Caution to anyone visiting Kennedy SC on April 29

By complete accident, I found out that a certain protest group (the Westboro Baptist Church) is going to be protesting at KSC for the shuttle launch. I looked into it because at first I was worried that they would be there when I was going. I do not intend to support or bash this group, and this thread is not a place for discussion about them. I know that many people could potentially be offended by what may go on if they did not know that this group was going to be there. Hopefully things don't go wrong for anyone.

Gee, wondering where they will actually protest? That whole area is on lockdown for launches---you can't even get on the road that leads into KSC without a special car pass.

Just read that Obama will be there too. No way will SS allow protests at KSC.

I'm guessing they'll be on the road heading there they think will have the most traffic. Or maybe the one they think the news crews will take.

There's no place to stop and protest on the one lane road (many miles long) that leads to the check point area. They will be far from KSC itself. Might as well say they're protesting in Titusville or Cocoa Beach or from the state of Florida. I imagine the news people will be much more interested in giving coverage from the launch area itself. Really think it will be much ado about nothing and they will get little to no media attention.
