Caution I*Tunes users.....

I have and love my Video Ipod, and have been addicted to it since purchasing it. Just today though I went online to check my bank account and see where I stood as I havent checked it in a few days. Well Since the 10th of this month someone was able to hack my password for itunes and had bought 79 items at $3.09 each. I am currently overdrafted in my account several hundred dollars b/c of this !! Unfortunately, since today is Martin Luther King Day my bank is closed I just want to put this out as a warning to all those who use Itunes, or really anyone who pays accounts on-line to be safe, check their cmputer for spyware and viruses often, and make sure their passwords are complex!

I just hope I can get this all settled I am about to cry, I have been unemployed for exactly a month today, and start my new job tommorrow, If I cant get this settled I dont know how on earth I will pay next months bills !!!!

I only use the iTunes cards to purchase. I am too afraid something like this would happen.

I also only use the cards for purchases. I didn't want my cc info on their site. Many people offered that advice before I even got an iPod.

I'm still on the first card I purchased, though, as we have a pretty extensive CD library.

We also just do the cards for DD . I trust a lot of places for my CC info but I-Tunes is not one of them.

thanks everyone...the one thing that REALLY bothers me though is that ITunes doesnt have a phone number to call for emergencies like this so I have to email them and wait at least 24 hours for a response!

I cant find the darn way to REMOVE a CC from that stupid Itunes?? Anyone know? I can change it but not delete the one that is there! Getting mad!

To delete your credit card number from iTunes, click the link below and we'll launch iTunes and take you to the Acccount Information page. Then, click Edit Credit Card. Finally, click None in credit card type.

Open your ITunes windows and go to the Itunes store. On the right hnd side there is a column that has 'account'. Click on that and enter your info. Then click on Edit Credit Card. And select None in the credit card type.

WTH that was a pain, but I did it! I was on the site and not in my itunes icon I found it and did it whew! I then went on the site and it is gone. I cant believe the dude on the phone couldn't tell me that! ARG! Thanks sooo much!!

Also to remove your card go to your account and change you Credit card info where it has card type listed ( Visa MC AMEX) all the way to the right it has the option of NONE, just click there and update.


I will try calling the fraud department now. Lets see if they can help me out.
