Warning: If you put too large of a hunk of leftover roast beef down your garbage disposal, it will NOT dispose. Instead, it will severely clog your drain. This may cause your husband to have to take the sink apart, spent hours on the internet looking for directions to fix said clog and then give up and a professional plumber will have to be called.

Just a public service announcement. Good night.

This is why I have a dog. She is the garbage disposal. :teeth:

Hamster bedding does the same thing! Ask my kids, THEY KNOW!!!

Potato peelings do that too!

And 7 1/2 dozen eggshells when you are catering a holiday event. :rolleyes1

DH tried to burn ours out with corn cobs once...fortunatly I stoped him before he did any damage.

Same thing with plain cooked spaghetti. Man, what a mess. My dh was

Whew! Good thing I'm a vegetarian and don't have this problem. :teeth:

Thank goodness it was a garbage story - I was afraid you were going to tell us we couldn't eat Roast Beef anymore!

Celery isn't good for them either....

I just discovered that pumpkin guts are not a good choice. The orange parts are fine, but the seeds took 3 bottles of Drano to clear!

Glad to see someone mentioned those sneaky teaspoons.

I tried to put a watermelon rind down ours once many years ago. Dh almost had a heart attack when he saw me shoving that rind down the drain! :rotfl: In my defense, I grew up in the country and we always had my grandparents' cows to eat the rinds, so I never really knew what people did with them. I did a lot of experimenting with that poor disposal in my early married life.

I have a question

I don't have a disposal, but it seems like they are good for nothing - everything clogs them? What are they for, then?

Avocado peels never seem to 'dispose' either.

It is just like life-everthing is fine in Moderation. The only thing I do not put down mine is Celery. but I have have also been there done that on all the stuff everybody else mentioned-Spagehtti the worst.

Oh & have to add that when my sister was little she I thought I made all the spoons rough on the edges with my braces ;)
