Okay, I am planning a visit on August 24, 2014. However, I am reluctant to book because I am waiting to see what deals come out. If free dining (fingers crossed) is available, I need to book a package. Therefore, I haven't tried to buy any discount tickets yet.
Can I make reservations for let's say BBB or Cinderella's Table without having my reservation for the room or tickets yet? I've looked at the crowd numbers for that week & they are rather low. Will booking around May be an issue??? I'm so nervous I won't get in BBB or anything else if I wait too long.
Thoughts please!

That's not correct...anyone can book 180 days out.

What you can't do without a resort reservation is book with the 180 plus 10 advantage...you'll have to call or go online to make reservation for each day, you can't do them all at once.

If you book a prepaid restaurant like Cinderella's and you do not have a room package with dining plan, then you'll need to pay for it in full when you book it. You can add a dining plan later, and switch your payment to dining credits. What I'm not sure about is if you get the refund right away or you have to wait to switch your payment method until you get to the restaurant.

No, you do not need a package to book ADRs 180 days out. But you will have to make each ADR on the day it hits the 180 day mark, not the 180 +10 like was mentioned.

So, each morning, make the ADR associated that day of your trip.

The next logical question in mind would be:

1) If no discounts are offered for your travel dates, would you not travel to Disney?

If you would still travel, why not book a package now, and put down just the $200 deposit that is required. As TDC Nala said, you would have to pay in full for a reservation like Cinderella's Royal Table, which would cost more than the $200 deposit.

If you book without a discount, you can simply wait until discounts for that time frame are offered, and if they coincide with your travel dates, you can apply the discount to the reservation you already have.

I agree, if you wait much longer, you will likely not get the big name adr's you want at the times you want. Good luck! :goodvibes

Yes book now.

Try dreams unilimited travel, the sponsor of this board. What they do, is keep checking for you, I use them and when a discount is announced they will apply it for you if it applies. They saved me several hundred dollars already.

What they can't do, is know that you would be willing to change your reservations to get a discount. For instance, if you are staying at a value and a discount comes out for a moderate that you would be willing to move. Or that you would be willing to move your dates around.

So book what you want, when you want and if a discount comes along that applies they will do it but also, keep abreast of discounts and move dates or whatever to make the discount apply.

And make those ADR's. It is soooo much easier to do so now.

Try what I did.
Go online in your Disney account and select the dates and resort you want so that it is placed in your basket. Do not purcahse it. Then logout.

I did this a few weeks ago for late August and 2 days later I recevied a special PIN with a discount of up to 30% off the resort.

Worth a try, right?

Pretty interesting thought JunkPix...it's amazing how much your browser keep tracks for where you look...I start looking ofr airfare prices and then all of a sudden where ever I am on the web pop ups and ads for flights to Orlando appears. I makes sense Disney would keep track of who's looking where on their sites....

Depending on what type of resort you are wanting to stay in, you can look at renting DVC points as well. Especially if you plan on staying deluxe and in some cases, it's even cheaper than staying in a moderate with a code. You should look into this option unless you are only going after a value resort. It's almost guaranteed savings over any code Disney has released lately.
