Just saw THREE Maine Coon cats at Hungry Bear yesterday!
Have seen a handful of other cats this week, too.
Good news - ALL of the cats I've seen so far at Disneyland & DCA have been "ear-tipped". Ear-tipping is when feral cats have the top little "triangle" of their ear clipped off (very painless) - by a vet - it is to indicate that the cat has been spayed/neutered (so it can be determined at a distance if the animal needs the procedure done). So it looks like a lot (all I've seen) of the animals have been "fixed" so far.
I think I've seen everything at DL except the cats! I really one to see some when we go in July! I'll tell DD about it and it will give us something "new" to do while we're there.
Yep! Those are the 'coon cats! I actually saw them all again today, along with a pretty white kitty out in the woods behind Hungry Bear.
I saw the calico too - across from Storyteller's Cafe here at the Grand Californian!
Beautiful kitties, all of them - I was missing my own Maine Coon (back home in Florida) so it was kind of neat seeing the three Disneyland versions to pet =)
I've never seen the cats, but I always see little itty bitty tiny mice. Outside the Matterhorn and near the NOS train station is where I've seen them. Man oh man are they cute. I'm glad the cats aren't all over them, b/c I enjoy seeing those itty bitty meeses.
Yep! That's where we've seen them too. So tiny and cute! My kids loved seeing "Mickey's friends"! Now everytime we go on the Matterhorn my kids look for dem baby meeses!!
I have never noticed any cats... or if I did, I have long since forgotten. They'd be just about impossible to totally remove- and frankly, would be helpful in keeping down any rodent populations.
I saw some at the Hungry Bear Restaurant the last time we went. A CM told me that some of the employees feed them (not at that restaurant, just in general.) There was an infestation of mice in the flower beds outside Casey Jr. One of them jumped over (in broad daylight) and almost ran over my shoe. The CM said an exterminator was supposed to take care of them. There was DeCon sprinkled all into the flower beds, but it didn't seem to do any good. I couldn't believe the amount of mice in there.
The CM at our hotel told me that idiots drop their unwanted cats off at DL all the time. She said they seem to think they'll be in a "happy" place, not considering that they ARE animals, not people. She said it is a huge problem there.
