Catherine & Jesse - PJ & TR: TR Day 2 - hair & make up trial, updated 11/5

I need to dye my crinoline soon. I am scared, I want it hot pink! Yours turned out wonderful!!

I wonder if it's possible to dye it dark red, or do you think it would just go pink?

Invitations:

These things took me forever to do! I’m so glad they are done and out of the way. I just ordered pocket folders from cardsandpockets.com and then made the inserts myself. Then added the ribbons and Mickey cut outs.

Catherine,

Where did you get the ribbon and mickey head materials from? Need to find some pretty papers etc. to investigate the possibility of making my own invites.....

Also, for the inserts on the right, do they come in a set, or e.g. if you want 4 different inserts do you need 4 seperate inserts for that one invitation to cut down? Hope that makes some sense, what I mean is, does 1 insert cover enough for 4 different cut down sections, or do you need 4 pieces to do it?

Unfortunately cardsandpockets charges over $60 for shipping to the UK, but I love the style of the pocket folders, does anyone know of anywhere I can get these in the UK / shipped cheaper from the US?

I tried to catch up but I have a ways to go!! Everything looks so beautiful :goodvibes Your dress and tiara are gorgeous :lovestruc Your invites are so pretty and unique. Now, I have to go find that guest book :3dglasses

Thanks Lisa! You should totally dye your hot pink! It would look so cute.

Hi Meryll! I don't know - its kind of tricky. The dye that I bought was originally suppose to be a dark purple. But I believe because of the material the crinnie (polyester blend) is made of, it came out much lighter. I would say buy a cheap crinnie and test it out to see if it does come out red or pink. You might also have to use more dye than usual to get that dark red. Once you get the color you want, you can dye your real crinnie. Good luck! ;)

The mickey heads actually came out of a paper punch. I bought the ribbons and paper punch from Michaels. Its a craft store here in the US - I'm not sure if they have any locations in the UK.

The only thing I purchased at Cardsandpockets are the pocketfolds and the purple matte that the actual invites are mounted on. For the inserts I just bought a pack of 8.5 X 11 white cardstock from Michaels because it came out cheaper.
The inserts don't come in a set, so yes if you wanted 4 inserts you would have to print each one and cut them down to size to make that layering effect. You can probably set it on your computer to print 2 inserts per page and then cut them.
$60+ for shipping is crazy! What style and color pocketfold are you looking for?

It wouldn't actually be the end of the world if it turned out to be pink, I might just have a gamble!

I really love that pocket folder style you have chose, can't remember it's name now, is it Signature or something like that?
I can find them on UK sites, but it actually only works out about £20 more to buy the signature mats, pre-cut inserts, pocketfolds and envelopes, including shipping and an estimated possible 30% customs charge than it does to just order pocketfolds and envelopes alone from the UK. Or perhaps I can recruit a US buddy to get them for me and ship them over for less! ;)

Then I can find some ribbon, or gems or something to decorate them here in the UK..

I think I might have a gamble at doing them myself...
What sort of glue or whatever did you use to stick the signature mats and mickey heads on?

Great PJ :thumbsup2

Love your dress - it is beautiful.

At you menu tasting did you have to make your decisions there and then or did you let them know later?

I would love to dye my crinnie but was worried that it might show through the dress?

My dress is ivory taffetta and I wanted my crinnie buttercup yellow, what do you think?

Meryll - yes I have the signature pocketfold. The glue that I used is by Scotch and its called Quick-dry Adhhesive. I pretty much used it on all of my projects.

Thanks for reading Linz! We made our decisions right at the planning session. Everything was so good it was an easy decision, but you can always decide later and get back to your planner on the menu.

My crinnie didn't show through my dress at all. The material on my wedding dress is so thick and heavy. If your dress has a lot of layers, you should be fine. If you want, you can get a cheap crinnie and test it out. Good luck!

Your invites turned out so amazing!!! It is a huge task. One I am not up for!

Thanks so much! It was definitely not one of my favorite projects, but it saves a lot of $ to do it yourself ;)

I LOVE your invitations! They are so elegant!

Thanks Kendra!! :goodvibes

Wow those invitations look so tacky...were they some craft project by a 2 yr old?

LOL i'm just kidding...2 months & 2 days!!!!!

P.S. 27 days till bachelorette party!!! Who's ready to get wasted?!?!?!

I love your invitations which I think I have told you before. I have a question for you, the Mickey on the inside of the invitation how did you make it and what size is it? TIA!!

:lmao: Hey!! I thought I wasn't suppose to know about the bachelorette party? Or did someone slip?? :rolleyes1

Thanks again! Are you talking about the Mickey head underneath the inserts? If so - I used the Mickey head punch that I bought at Michaels. Just bought some pretty scrapbook paper and punched out a bunch of mickey heads, which is the one you see on the front of the pocketfold. Then, the hole that is left in the paper from the punch, I just cut around it and that's how I got the other mickey head on the inside of the pocketfold. I hope that wasn't too confusing. ;)

Hi! I sent out an invitation to Mickey and Minnie. There is a Disneyland address and a WDW address. I sent to both, but only got a picture from Disneyland. Here are the addresses:

Disneyland:
Mickey & Minnie
The Walt Disney Co.
500 S. Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521

WDW:
The Magic Kingdom
C/O Mickey & Minnie Mouse
1675 N Buena Vista Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Which photobook covers? Are you referring to the guest book? I ordered that from shutterfly. Just added all my own pictures in. HTH! :goodvibes

woo hoo, your so close now! Can't wait to hear all about it and see the photos. You are having the exact same wedding as us :cool1:
