Catfish? For breakfast?

Normally I don't eat breakfast but this morning I was starving so I went to the cafeteria. On Fridays they serve catfish fingers at breakfast. Judging by how fast they were flying off the tray it seems to be popular. Is this normal? And what other weird breakfast foods do you like?

I wouldn't eat catfish for breakfast if it was the last food on Earth. But then again, I wouldn't eat catfish for any meal. Yuck!

But I would eat chocolate cake for breakfast - I did that yesterday. Yum!

I'm used to the chicken, porkchops or steak for breakfast, I've just never heard of having fish for breakfast. And chocolate cake is good anytime.

This morning my DH ate my leftover pad thai (extra spicy) for breakfast.. It was supposed to be my lunch! grr... I hope he has heartburn. Can you tell it's lunch time?

In college I would regularly eat pizza for breakfast. You know the kind that had been left on the table from the previous night's party, just pluck the cigarette butts off it and chow down.

DD whose 4 doesn't like most breakfast foods so she often has baken beans, pasta or soup for breakfast.

Yep, fish...it's a Southern thing. Also, another believe it or not breakfast item...Chicken Livers! Yuck to both. They've never been in my home, and they never will be, even if I am Southern!

I always order extra eggrolls when we do chinese food. I love eating them cold for breakfast the next day! This totally grosses DH out!

Faith, it might be a southern thing, but I don't eat seafood of any sort. I don't eat a lot of traditional southern foods (okra, zucchini, hamhocks, collard greens, grits etc.).

Rice a roni is delicious for bfast. Or a ham and black olive with lots of mustard sandwich is also yummy for b'fast. Chili is another good choice. My favorite is cold mushroom pizza or cold meatless spaghetti. YUMMY! I can't think of anything weird I eat for bfast though.

the occasional PIZZA for Breakfast, however, after I have been up for about 2 hours and I do NOT drink Coffee with it! My DH has steak and eggs for Breakfast along WITH Grits or Potatoes.

Some people who do fishing trips have fish for breakfast I love fish and would eat it any time.

I used to eat fish cakes for breakfast, but I can't find them at the grocery anymore. I like cold hamburger and fries for breakfast. It goes back to when I was little and my dad worked the nightshift. On payday he would stop by a favorite drive-in and get something for him and mom and he would always get a hamburger and fries for me and my brother and put them in the fridge so we could have them when we got up in the morning.

In the dead of the winter, I love chipped beef gravy on toast for breakfast. Being up north, it's hard to find catfish on a breakfast menu, but we have one place that serves it quite regularly: scrambled eggs, grits, catfish, and homemade biscuits w/ honey. Throw in a big old mug of coffee and you're set for the day.

Regarding Catfish for breakfast....I can't bring myself to eat anything with the word "CAT" in it!

Sorry, I have to have the traditional "breakfast" foods for breakfast. I'd throw up if I ate any of the stuff you guys have been mentioning!!

Steak and eggs sounds good right now, Faith. With potatoes, of course.
