Hey all :)

Has anyone here done a catered rehearsal dinner on the property as opposed to at one of the Dis restaurants?

Does anyone know what kinds of minimums there are for these types of events?

We are having one in the living seas. I think the min was like 3000, and we have 98 people so thats not hard for us

The minimums are usually the same as they are for having a reception in the location you choose, so you could use the pricing info for the various wedding reception locations as a starting point. People have also used Sea Breeze Point for catered dinners - I believe the food and beverage minimum is $1,000 or $1,200. You could also do a beach-side reception at Shipwreck Beach at Yacht & Beach Club or possibly Clementine Beach at Fort Wilderness, although I've heard they aren't using it anymore.

The Summerhouse, Marina, and Sago Cay Pointe at the Grand Floridian are also popular locations. The Summerhouse is a bar area adjacent to the beach, about halfway between the resort’s theme pool and courtyard pool. It has a food and beverage minimum of $1,500. There is no venue rental fee. The food and beverage minimum for the Grand Floridian Marina is $1,500, and it's $500 for Sago Cay Pointe. The Marina requires a minimum of 20 guests and has a maximum of 120, while Sago Cay Pointe accommodates 10–75 guests. Combined, the sites hold up to 300 people. There are no venue rental fees for either site.

Your planner can help you figure out someplace that meets your budget and your group size.

We had ours at Shipwreck Beach at the Yacht Club. It was great- we made it a casual bbq and the atmosphere was amazing. I would definitely recommend it. We followed it with an Illuminations dessert party in Epcot. It set the mood for the rest of the weekend. Good luck!

Do you have any pictures of the Shipwreck Beach??

Hi Carrie,

Do you have pictures of what Clementine Beach looks like at Fort Wilderness? Thanks.

We did the equivalent of a Dessert Party for our rehearsal dinner, except with dinner instead of dessert. I believe the in-laws paid are $3000-$3,500 for around 30 people. But there was everything on the menu: salad, chips and dip, pizza, fried turkey (carving station), spinach artichoke dip, bread, cheesecake, and pie. It was awesome, and the entertainment can't be beat. We lucked out. Ours was held in Italy, next to the American Stage thingy. So we had lovely music the whole night, free!!
