I know the room is the same. The only difference is what deck the room is on with cat 5 being on the 7th and cat 6 being on the 6th. Cat 6 is also less expensive.

Do you think there is really any difference we would notice? Should we go ahead and book the cat 5 or save the few hundred and do the cat 6?

Go with the Cat. 6! Personally, I've never understood while people are willing to pay more to be a little higher in the ship. Deck 5 is my favorite, as I like being as close as possible to the water. Also, there are only staterooms forward and aft, so you'll get much less hallway traffic. Use the extra $$ for drinks, spa, or whatever floats your boat. :)

DH and I liked the location of Cat 6 we liked being closer to the water. I do not think deck 5 is worth the price.;)

I think you ment Cat 5 is not worth the price. Verandahs on deck 5 are also Cat 6 and are even closer to the water than deck 6, however, we have discovered that the verandahs on deck 5 are also about a foot or more less deep than verandahs on decks 6, 7, and 8. You can see this if you look at the ship maps, and I confirmed it during the May repo (we were in a Cat 6 on deck 5, the people travelling with us were in a Cat 6 on deck 6).

Save the cash... do a 6.

I have to agree with everyone else. Get the Cat 6 and save your money for other things.

Of course you could try for 7620 or 7120 which are Cat 5's for the price of Cat 7's which have a slightly obstructed verandah. We have 7620 booked for an october 2005 cruise.

I'd probably go with the category 6. Not only would you save some money, but you are also one deck closer the atrium, guest services, bars, kids clubs, restaurants, etc. I've been on decks 7, 5 and 2 & now prefer the ones that are closer to these areas.

We just returned from the July 2 2005 WEst Coast cruise. We had a cat 6 on deck 5 and a cat 11 across the hall. We had never had a verandah before (always 2 cat 11's) but we loved it. We also love deck 5- it's clost to everything and not long hallways of staterooms.

Thanks everyone. :goodvibes Cat 6 it is as long as we can get two connecting not just adjoining rooms. We have two teens who will more than likely be coming at going at their own pace and we still want to be able to keep a fairly close eye on when they are "home" at night (they will be in one room and us in the other). They are really good kids (with a horribly mean Mom  ) and we trust them..but they are still teens. ;)

So if we can get two cat 6's.. great. Our next choice is cat 5 with our last choice being cat 7.
