Who has been in a Cat 4E on deck 5? What can you tell me? (We have connecting 4E cabins on the Nov 30th Fantasy Eastern Caribbean).

How many chairs are there? Some photos I see 2 chairs and other I see 2 chairs and 2 half loungers.

What did you think of the room? Of the balcony? We are port side forward near the balcony to the Walt theater. Seems like it should be a pretty quiet location.

Thanks!

I personally love the 4Es. I have stayed in them twice now, and the last cruise had connecting cabins. Both times ours have been closer to the aft. There are 2 chairs and 2 loungers on each. The room steward can open the balcony divider if you wish and you can move freely from balcony to balcony.

We enjoyed our 4E. We had the extra extended balcony (5150), which the kids loved. It was big enough that they could literally run around out there. And the location was excellent for access to the kids' clubs--especially convenient for the inevitable return for forgotten items.

ETA: because we had the extra-wide balcony we had two chairs and two lounger-type chairs (like a chaise, but with a short seat instead of a long seat). And 2 tables.

We had a similar experience - love the 4Es, especially connecting cabins. We had 5542 an 5544 last December for a 3 generation cruise which included 5 people - grandparents, parents and a 3 month old. We spent a lot of time on the balcony (the room steward opened the dividers for us) and there was plenty of room for room service trays and even storage of the stroller. The lounge chairs are quite comfy. The location was very quiet - even though we were above the balcony of the Walt Theater (I believe). The hallway was short and little traffic.

An unanticipated bonus was the ease of getting on an elevator. When they stopped at 5 most people got off for the kids clubs and we could enter an empty elevator.

Thanks for asking the question. We are considering booking the same cruise with a CAT4E. We saw them on the Dream and they looked nice. We have stayed on upped decks in the past but love the idea of an extened balcony.

My friend complained of stuff being dropped on their verandah from above. She no longer books the extended verandahs. I have never had one.

I also stayed in 5052 and would stay in that cabin every time if I could!! We had no problems with people dropping things on our balcony or people peeping.

What kind of stuff...Seems like that would come with the territory, If it was good stuff consider it a free souviner :lmao:

We had one of the aft cat 4E rooms on the Dream in 2012. We had booked VGT and weren't sure what to expect with this type of room. We loved our extended verandah and we also loved the location near the aft stairs/elevators. We ended up taking the stairs almost everywhere since it was generally only a few flights up or down. As others have said, the proximity to the Oceaneer Club/Lab was super convenient as well.

There were 2 regular chairs, a table, and 2 of the short loungers on our verandah. We did not have a problem with people looking down on us -- and certainly not dropping things down on us. In fact, we seldom saw anyone on the verandahs above us. If you spend a lot of time (or anticipate spending a lot of time) on your verandah, you'll love the extra space. We were in a cat 5C room for our next cruise, and the verandah felt very small in comparison!

That's what I had. Right as we were leaving Port Canaveral (after the party). Little kids were throwing the cheddar Mickeys from the Castaway Club backpack on us.

Personally I loved this room. I loved sitting on the balcony with my yummy treats (go to the Vista Lounge/Café and get yummies) and read. It was great. We could get our whole group out there and I was thinking about inviting our FE group over for some boxed wine. They would have fit.

Thanks everyone for the great information. Sounds like we have great cabins!

Here's our verandah on 5150. It's hard to see, but it's twice as wide as a normal verandah (it's as wide as two staterooms) in addition to being twice as deep as a usual verandah (which is typical of 4Es).

Awesome. We are in 5650,

I had 5650 and it was amazing. The 1 difference between it and 5150 is you don't have the little extra side part near the lifeboats. There is a metal panel there, but it didnt make any difference. The hallway is a dead end so there is not a lot of foot traffic. It didnt bother me, but during the day if the room was quiet you could lightly hear the kids in the club. It is really confident to the aft elevators. I loved this room, and if I don't go concierge I would try to book it every time!

I am so excited. We have cabin 5650 on the Dream in three weeks. Sounds like we will have a nice spot to relax in the extended veranda!!
