Category 12 vs. Category 11 -- Advice?

I'm seeking advice on the pros and cons of booking a Category 12 guarantee room (where you're not assigned a room now, but could be upgraded later) vs. a Cat 11 room where you can choose the location now. The Cat. 11 room would cost an extra $100 or so. The rooms are the physically the same. By the way, it's for a 3 night cruise.

The only difference between an 11 and a 12 is where on the ship the cabin is located. The 12 gty has the best chance for an upgrade (which will usually be to a 9 or above!) Personally, we like decks 1 and 2 (where the 12s are located), so I wouldn't pay the extra money for the 11.

BTY, we love the GTY cabins. You frequently get more than you pay for. However, do not book something you won't be happy with and count on an upgrade. There is no promise of one.
