Category 12 Guaranteed...what has been your experience?

Those booking a cat 12 guar cabin, what has your experience been? Have you actually been in a cat 12 cabin?

I am on hold with a TA and they are quoting me the cat 12 price and saying that there are no more cat 12's avail (to her agency I guess, I don't know how that works) but she is saying my chances for being upgraded are pretty nice....

I booked a cat 12 GTY and was upgraded to a cat 9. Even if all the cat 12's are booked, you may still end up in a cat 12 as they may upgrade someone already booked.

Right now i am in a Cat 12 for the 8/25 sailing. I booked a Cat 12 GAR back in January. Now i have been assigned Room 2015. I can still hope for an upgrade a the port, right????

I just booked a couple days ago for Feb, and I have a cat12 gty... I'm just happy I'm goin...don['t plan on being in the room that much anyways..LOL -
BUT, my kids did say they want to watch cable some...LOL- go on a cruise to watch cable

I have booked a Cat 12 for Oct and no room assignment yet.

I have been told I will at least get a Cat 11 as there are 4 in our party. I agree I am just glad to be going...this is my first cruise. I would love to be upgraded however, might make DH book cruise #2 sooner..

So I was told. I am no expert as this is my first cruise but DU told me I would at least get a 11. I don't think there is any difference in a 11 or 12 except it sleeps the extra person.

11 and 12 are the same cabin except for location on the ship. All 12s hold only 3 (but they will let a family of 4 book a 12 gty---you'll be upgraded automatically to at least an 11). Some 11s hold 3, others hold 4.

aha! so all 12's only hold three...I am suprised they would let a family of four even book it. I have quotes from AAA and Cruises Only and AAA looks better so far, and I am still waiting on DU. The price diff for a 9 and 11 with AAA is only $300! I think that is pretty darn good!

What cruise are you looking at? For 300 different, I'd go with the Cat 9, that's amazing! There is a $400 difference between Cat 12 and Cat 11 when I sail, and since I will get a Cat 11 anyway with 4 people, decided to book Cat 12.
