Am I right in thinking this is the cheapest category that sleeps 4? And, only 1 bathroom...no extra 1/2? Still big enough for family of 4 (DH, myself, 3yr old, and 5 yr old)?

Biggest Questions--I read on dave's website about trying to get in the aft of deck 7 due to its deck. Do these cat 11's sleep 4? Has anyone stayed in these? Pictures? Would you recommend these cabins over a porthole or balcony room since you'd be so close to a deck? Any noise or movement probs? Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Never been on a disney cruise (yet)...but yes cat 11 is the cheepest cabin that sleeps 4...and yes no split bath. And as many would say...book the cabin you'll be happy with (ie, the porthole or balcony or inside stateroom)...But if budget is your concern...any room on the ship is better than no room on the ship:D . We (DH, DD6, DD11, and myself) are headed on the Magic this Sept....inside no porthole or balcony (fingers are crossed though) and will just be happy to be on the ship.

So I wasn't able to answer many of your questions....just the couple about cat 11. I'm sure someone else will inform you of more. :wave2:

hi we stayed in one last year with dh and myself. sorry no pics to show.. anyway we are staying in one theis aug with me dh dd 16 and dgs 10 the extra bed pulls from the ceiling there is a curtain for privacy at the end of the big bed and a couch that tuns in to a bed , the room was very nice and enough room , mind you it is not home but your harley in in there. the bathroom is all in one. but we managed , with the extra people some will do nite and some will do day showers. there seamed to be enough storage space also.hope this helps we were upgraded the 2nd night be cause of a problem and we were put on the end of the ship in a handi cap large room w/ verhanda was wondeful but boy did we rock alot at night. the verhanda was nice but again how much time will you really be in the room?the dinsycrusie.com has pic of rooms as well as this web site,i am sure someone wll post pics there are lots of posters here.

we'll be in cat 11 near the secret deck in october, our room sleeps 3 but there are cat 11's that sleep 4, i've read great reports on this location and i can't wait to order coffee and pastries and sit out on deck to enjoy.
go with whatever category you'd be happy with, portholes will give you some natural light but cat 11 get nice and dark so you get good sleep, some people love verandahs some don't but i think cat 11 near deck 7 will be fine , best of both worlds.

There are cat 11 and 12 that sleep 3 and other cabins in the came categories that sleep 4.

DCL used to use 11 as the entry level cabin, but recently has listed cat 12 as cheaper. The only difference between the 2 is which deck on the ship they are on.

If you are booking for 4, they will automatically only put you in a cabin that sleeps 4 (one with a fold down bunk).

The difference between an 11/12 and a 10 or better is the split bath...a convenience with 4 people, but only you can decide whether an extra sink is worth the money. My favorite is to book an 11 or 12 gty (guarantee)....and then on several occasions, we've been upgraded. gty means that they cannot put you in a lower cabin that that category, but you don't get to pick your room, and you might be in a higher category.

I know that we like the cat 10 b/c of the split bath. HAving one bathroom for four people was a logistic problem at times. We usually only use our room to sleep in.

We've been on 3 cruises and have the same room #7127 for all three. It is cat. 11, but it is one that only sleeps 3.

I wouldn't go any other way, unless I won the lotto!. To be honest, we were never in it unless we were sleeping or changing.

We just did a 7 night, and we had plenty of space for all our stuff. 6 large suitcases and 6 carry ons. Of course, remember to store them inside each other. Our biggest is the largest the airlines will permit without an extra charge and we put 3 others inside it and stored it in the closet.

Thanks guys! I have some more questions. :earsgirl:

What exactly is in the rooms w/ 1 1/2 bath. Toilets in both? Not sure what they mean by 1 1/2.

Also, I read on someone's website (i think either dave's or castaway) that the doors on the aft deck7 deck are locked at night. What time do they lock these doors? Just wondered if we got the kids to sleep if it would be possible to take the few steps over to this deck for 5 or so minutes of fresh air? But, couldn't if its locked.

Also, when a room sleeps 4, does that mean it always has the pull down bunk in addition to the sleeper sofa? I just wondered if we could end up having to stick both kids on the sofa, which I'm not so sure would be a good idea. My son likes to wrestle and jump on people in bed (and he's only 2 now), which can be very annoying and difficult for the other person in that bed!

Thanks! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

If it sleeps four, the room has the bed that comes from the ceiling. The couch bed only sleeps one person.

There are no cabins that sleep 4 on deck 7 in the aft. We also had wanted to utilize the secret deck and book a cabin near it but the cat. 11 aft cabins only sleep 3. The closest cabins that sleep 4 are midship on deck 7. They are 7063, 7065, and 7565.
We found that the secret deck was locked after 11pm. Not sure what time it opens in the A.M.

Maybe someone else knows the specific hours of the secret deck??

Hope this helps!

Is that there are 2 "bathrooms" to get ready in...one features a shower and a sink w/mirror... the other features a toilet and sink w/mirror...so 2 people can get ready at the same time....

we've always opted to stay cheap, since we use the room only to change in, plus about 6 hours of sleeping time...but we do like having the split bathrooms....

hope this helps...

Is there a vanity area w/mirror in the stateroom itself to get ready? I went on an RC cruise in jan, and they had a vanity. I only used the bathroom for the shower itself, but was able to sit at the vanity in the room for makeup and hair....that way DH could use the bathroom for his shower.

The sofa bed isn't like a normal pull out sofa bed. You don't pull it out--they do something to it and you lay down on it like you would lie on the couch while watching TV. We had a cat. 11 with a 6 year old and 11 year old. My 11 year old slept on the couch and had plenty of room. We liked having an indoor room--nice and dark for a mid-afternoon nap.;)

Is the only way to get an upgrade by booking a guarantee? I'm not sure I can do that so if I book a specific room, then I'm out of luck on the upgrade thing?

Is this the sofa we have had in Cat. 11 and 6 the same size an adult would use? The reason why I am asking is that we are booked for one of the West Coast cruises and my parents and adult sister who lives at home are considering coming. My sister might not want to pay for a single so she is stinking of staying in cabin with my parents. Do three adults fit comfortable (bed size)?

Are you sure the deck 7 aft cat 11's don't sleep 4? Reason I ask is several website search engines I've been using to test prices do list these rooms available even though I've listed 4 people, but they don't list them when I only list I've got 2 people.

There is a desk that has a chair, large mirror and some outlets, so yes I think there is a vanity for you.

As far as the upgrade you are not out of luck, but your chances will not be as good. No one can figure out what criteria is used to give upgrades. Be sure to book what you will be happy with...
