considering the Catamaran snorkeling excursion on Nassau ( thru Disney). Any one have exp with this excursion and would you recommend for adults and 8 and 11 yr olds. The kids swim ok but not any world swim champs by any means.

We did this excursion about a month ago. We really enjoyed it, even though the seas were a bit rough for us. There was another boat docked at the snorkel site, so the water was a bit on the crowded side until that boat left (see 3rd picture - lots of people over the reef). The equipment wasn't great. My mask kept leaking and my life vest was a bit of a pain. But I think thats what you generally get with tours of this type if you don't bring your own gear. But all in all it was a good excursion. So fabulous to see all those colorful fish. I could have stayed in the water for hours! I did feel it was safe for the kids since life vests were provided. Plus, an employee was out in the water on a float with us to ensure safety. If we go again, I would use a private company with a smaller boat and better equipment. We almost booked Blue Hole Water Sports, but we preferred the early morning departure time that the Disney excursion offered (Blue Hole time was lunch timeish). Some pictures . . .

Great photos. I was considering this tour with family for next fall. Was jumping off the only way to get in the water> How did you get back on the boat?

There were also some stairs at the front of the boat for getting in and out. The boat ride out and back was also enjoyable. Nice day!

We did the catamaran and snorkel trip with Disney in March and loved it. The ride on the catamaran was fun and the snorkeling was great. It was totally safe and even our 9 year old did ok. Lot's of colorful fish. There were other boats at the reef, but it was not too crowded. The equipment was not new but worked fine. The crew was very friendly and helpful. On the way back they played music, and had snacks and drinks. It was a very fun morning and worth the money spent.

Thanks for all your replies. For the price it seemed like a good deal and a chance for the kids to see some nice fish. I just got a new waterproof camera that I am anxious to try out and this gives me a great opportunity to put it through the paces. Thanks again. The pics were great.

I am only seeing an afternoon one available on our sailing. Has anyone ever gone on the one that meets at 12:45pm?
