Catalina Island Question

We are headed to DL the first week in Feb for 8 days, and we were thinking of taking one day off to see Catalina Island. However, I get really Sea-sick & was wondering how rough the boat out to the island is likely to be at that time. Anyone know? Also, how would one get from DLH to the ferry that takes you there if you don't have a rental car? Taxi? Shuttle?

The water wasn't very rough when we went in Nov 2005. We used the Catalina Flyer and a rental car.

The crossing varies a lot depending on the weather. Just take a Bonine (generic: meclizine) before boarding the boat.
