Just wondering if anyone had any cat stories they would like to tell? dis sjw:surfweb:

well my mom has 3 cats and they wake her up at 5am everymorn.. 2 days ago my moms cat woke her up and she got up and went into the bathroom and the cat followed her like always. so my mom went pp and she got up to flush and looked in the toilet and she found a mouse floating in it.. she first thought did I do that? Then she realized it was the cat.

OK, I'll tell you about Buddy. Buddy is our 14th cat in the current group.

We were fostering a stray mother cat who gave birth to three beautiful kittens. She had them under a bush and a neighbor just casually mentioned this to me one day when the kittens were only about a week old. I was horrified that they were just being left there so my daughter and I went over and picked them and the mother cat up and brought them home. We named the mother cat Dee Dee.

About 2 weeks later there was a knock on our door and the same neighbor was holding a nearly dead kitten that she said she found walking up her street. He was a real mess, loaded with fleas and very dehydrated. I gave him a bath and combed him out as best I could to get rid of the bugs. Then I brought him to Dee Dee. He was too young to be eating on his own and my hope was that she would adopt him.

At first she hissed at him and took a couple of swipes at his tiny body. I removed him for a while and then came back and got one of her kittens. I put the two of them together and even rubbed one on the other in the hopes his smell would not put her off so much if her own kitten's odor was on him.

Back he went and she hissed at him again but not so much. The poor stray kitten actually hung his head and cried. It was about then that Dee Dee started nursing her babies and the new kitten got closer and closer. Finally Dee Dee just looked at him and stretched out and he joined in with her own babies. I burst out crying. Good grief, I'm tearing up just thinking about it. It was like something out of a Disney animal feature.

We named the new kitten Buddy. Here he is at the top of the photo with his adopted litter mates. He was about a week older than they were.

We found homes for Dee Dee and all her babies but Buddy stayed with us. This is how he looks now.

He's a little devil but very affectionate. I needed another cat at that time like a hole in the head but sometimes you've just got to do what you've got to do. :teeth:

Your story made me tear up esp. the part where he cried.:sad1: Glad that she finally adopted him.

Well... we have my dear Belle here. She's a nut.

She's big, she's black, and she's fat. She's 13-14 pounds and has a voracious appetite. While, she does things all day that make us laugh, she is particulary spunky when there is any type of food around.

We had chicken caesar salads for dinner, she liked the smell. Well we didn't hear her for awhile then DF is like what's that noise. We got up and she is in the kitchen, licking the pan used to heat the chicken. As I scolded her she just looked up at me and licked her lips. :sad2:

And then today, she begged DF to give her some apples. It was driving her nuts until she got a smell of them up close and turned her nose.

She also wakes us up in the morning to feed her by knocking anything she can possibly find off the dresser. And if that doesn't work she stands on you.

When my cat was a kitten he tried to jump up on my lap while I was on the toilet.;)

He missed and landed in my sweatpants which were, obviously, around my ankles.:scared1:

I couldn't get him out OR my pants off - so I did a freak dance in the bathroom trying to get him out.

He's a very affectionate cat - a little too much sometimes. :rotfl:

I got the funniest picture in my brain when I read that. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have A cat that likes to be pet a lot, but i try not to give it too much attention otherwise it wants attention like ALL the time. And I get tired of touching it sometimes. But it's a nice cat.

my current cat wakes me up in the morning by licking my eyelids..

I have 4 cats. My DD10 started spoiling them last summer by putting ice cubes in their water dish. Well, of course she no longer remembers to do this, so mom does. I know, I have sucker written on my forehead.
Anyway, last Sunday I was sleeping. It was 4AM. I hear something being pushes across the floor. then I hear a toy get batted across the floor. then another. finally I hear a little bell. Now I am wide awake, ready to strangle the little culprit. I sit up to find, the one cat sitting at the end of my bed with a cat ball in his mouth. (the ones with the little bell inside) he was shaking it back and forth to wake me. I got up to chase him out of the room, but then I figured I better see what he wanted or else I would never get any sleep. Well, I follow him to the kitchen. Sure enough....all four cats were sitting around the water dish. As soon as I gave them the ice cubes, they all took a drink and then went to sleep. I on the other hand was awake for hours.

We have Beatrice and Rosalind, 10 yr. old cats from the same litter. Rosalind was the runt of the litter, and she still sometimes tries to "nurse" on Beatrice, who usually puts up with it. They spend a lot of time snuggled up together on the bed, and it's very cute!

We call Beatrice our "Bladder Dancer" because every morning she jumps up onto the bed and stands on top of our stomachs to wake us up. It wouldn't be so bad if she'd sit down, but she paces back and forth over our tummies. Sometimes she'll lay down on top of us and gently poke us in the face with her paw until we respond. If we still don't pet her, she'll start "grooming" us - licking our eyebrows, hair, arm hair, etc.

I used to have a cat named Simon who would tug on my pj sleeve or the top of the sheets when he wanted me to wake up and pet him. He'd grab the fabric in his teeth and tug and tug until I responded. Sometimes in the middle of the night he'd lay down next to my head and do this funny chuckle-meow sound in my ear - kind of an "are you awake?" sound to it. It startled me, but it was so cute it made me laugh.

These "waking you up stories" are convicning me to keep our new yet-to-be-adopted cats in their own bedroom at night!

One time, my Mom left her bacon on the table to go into her room to answer her phone. She didn't see Garfield, so she wasn't even thinking that he'd get to her food. He even knocked off the toast that was covering the bacon to eat it! He'd eat through plastic bags to get to bread, especially croissants! (I really miss him!)

Bless you for careing about that kitty

My DH cat came to live with us at 16 yrs old and was with us for 2 yrs after that. Benji was very sneaky and loved "people food".

We came home from a restaurant late one night with buffalo hot wings and I was so tired, I left them sitting in the styrofoam container on the table and went to bed. My DH, in the morning, yells for me to get up and come see.... Benji knocked the container off the table and most likely would have eaten the whole thing (about 6 wings) but they were hot!! There was an orange circle on the rug where he had tried to get the sauce off and 1 chicken bone and all the other wings were just sitting there untouched...:rotfl: :rotfl: The other funny thing was, his water bowl was totaly dry. His little tounge must have been burning.. poor baby.

Poor kitty! lol That reminds me of my aunt's cat who licked her fingers after she had been cutting up jalapenos. Cat was not happy. We were all amused, though.

Ahhhh, that's sweet.

Anyone ever have a really smart cat? I've only had one. He was brilliant, you could literally teach him things and he just seemed like he was very intelligent and understood things. Unfortunately he got killed young, but he was the smartest cat I've ever had.

My other cats just seem to want to lay around and be lazy. They will run up to me to get some petting and love though, but that's about it, other than eating, litter box, the usual stuff.

We have two cats, Samson and Delilah.

Samson (lovingly known as Fat Boy) is the dumbest, fatest, but most loving cat I have ever known. He lets the kids pick him up and lug him around. He let me put socks on him the other day. He likes to lay on out flat surface stove and the dining room table.

Delilah loves DH. She used to steal food from him as a kitten. Now that she doesn't have to worry about where her next meal is coming from, she is constantly searching for the warmest place in the house. She likes to lay on DH's chest, put her arms around his neck, and groom his stubbly face. I swear he is sometimes more affectionate to her than he is to me.

We had to get a king-sized bed this year, because the cats were taking up so much room!
