It was like something out of a Disney animal feature.

Glad that she finally adopted him.

When my cat was a kitten he tried to jump up on my lap while I was on the toilet.![]()
He missed and landed in my sweatpants which were, obviously, around my ankles.![]()
I couldn't get him out OR my pants off - so I did a freak dance in the bathroom trying to get him out.![]()

I got the funniest picture in my brain when I read that.![]()

OK, I'll tell you about Buddy. Buddy is our 14th cat in the current group.
We were fostering a stray mother cat who gave birth to three beautiful kittens. She had them under a bush and a neighbor just casually mentioned this to me one day when the kittens were only about a week old. I was horrified that they were just being left there so my daughter and I went over and picked them and the mother cat up and brought them home. We named the mother cat Dee Dee.
About 2 weeks later there was a knock on our door and the same neighbor was holding a nearly dead kitten that she said she found walking up her street. He was a real mess, loaded with fleas and very dehydrated. I gave him a bath and combed him out as best I could to get rid of the bugs. Then I brought him to Dee Dee. He was too young to be eating on his own and my hope was that she would adopt him.
At first she hissed at him and took a couple of swipes at his tiny body. I removed him for a while and then came back and got one of her kittens. I put the two of them together and even rubbed one on the other in the hopes his smell would not put her off so much if her own kitten's odor was on him.
Back he went and she hissed at him again but not so much. The poor stray kitten actually hung his head and cried. It was about then that Dee Dee started nursing her babies and the new kitten got closer and closer. Finally Dee Dee just looked at him and stretched out and he joined in with her own babies. I burst out crying. Good grief, I'm tearing up just thinking about it.It was like something out of a Disney animal feature.
We named the new kitten Buddy. Here he is at the top of the photo with his adopted litter mates. He was about a week older than they were.

We found homes for Dee Dee and all her babies but Buddy stayed with us. This is how he looks now.

He's a little devil but very affectionate. I needed another cat at that time like a hole in the head but sometimes you've just got to do what you've got to do.![]()
The other funny thing was, his water bowl was totaly dry. His little tounge must have been burning.. poor baby.We came home from a restaurant late one night with buffalo hot wings and I was so tired, I left them sitting in the styrofoam container on the table and went to bed. My DH, in the morning, yells for me to get up and come see.... Benji knocked the container off the table and most likely would have eaten the whole thing (about 6 wings) but they were hot!! There was an orange circle on the rug where he had tried to get the sauce off and 1 chicken bone and all the other wings were just sitting there untouched...![]()
