Has anyone else leash trained their cat? It took us about a year to get Furface to walk on a leash and now she begs to go for her nightly walk!!

Below you can see a pic with her on her leash walking in the massive snow Nashville had in January 2003.

She's so cute!:D DD tried to put our cat on a leash once. That didn't go so good. He sat down like a mule and wouldn't move. But our neighbor puts his cat on a leash on his deck and the cat stays out there all day and loves it. I guess it can be done.:D

Thank you for saying she's cute - you know looks can be deceiving!

She thinks she's a dog! She growls at the postman and the UPS guy, she attacks dogs and my darling husband has taught her "to go get your mother". When he says that, she does her "catzilla" and attacks my calfs!

We tried with my oldest cat but she just kept wanting to run away and play by herself.
And if we tried with kittens we would lose them lol. They're indoor cats and love getting out.

I tried a leash on one of our cats. Let's just say it didn't go very well. My sister's cat is leash trained. He knows it is either wear the leash or not go outside. Your cat is very pretty.

Our cat is the same way! She goes outside on the leash and I had to laugh when I heard some teenagers pass the house. They saw her, laughed and said "That's just wrong!". Tell this to the paperboy, who used to have to throw the paper from the street...he was terrified of the cat! The UPS man actually beeps his horn if he has a package for me...he won't approach the porch if the cat is out! She will growl at the largest dog walking down the street...yet Thumper (the rabbit!) can chase her all over the house! Nutty cat! :p

was my peppe le pew........he was a descented skunk back in the days when it was allowed.....he was also litter trained.......
Sir Chester Yak of Pearl Harbor was a beautiful male Himalayn and was also leashed trained....Yak always knew when it was time to go out cause out came his harness...long haired kitties do not do well with collars

She's a princess! I tried this with Simba a few times, he wasn't too happy about it. When the leash came out, he would run and hide.

When my Whiskers was still alive, he was an outdoor cat. He wouldn't wear a leash. And, to be honest, I would feel a little weird walking him around!:) The vet told me to do it one time, but I thought he was crazy.

She is adorable!

No leashes here, but my DH said he saw a lady the other day while he was driving home from work. She was pushing her cat in a BABY STROLLER! The cat just sat there, loving it!

Our DD used to push our cat, Ren, around in her doll stoller in the house and Ren would hang her head over the side and watch the wheels go round and round! So cute!

Fojmo,

When I was about 7 - I had this huge orange tabby cat named George. I used to dress George up in babydoll clothes (bonnett also) and push him around the neighborhood. My parents used to get the strangest looks when they were out with me and George :p .

George jumped out of the stroller a couple of times - so I believe he was the butt of all of the jokes with the neighborhood cats. :Pinkbounc .

Your daughter sounds just like me :p when I was younger (just make sure she doesn't make mud pies with rolly pollies and tell her cousin that it is a chocolate pie with raisins :teeth:  ). I used to get in so much trouble with my aunt when I made my cousin eat my home made pies!

Oh my gosh, what an adorable kitty!

My boys are not leash trained, and they don't really like the leash - but, when they go outside, they wear the harness and leash. Well, I guess, Tycho does. Wedge can't fit in the harness anymore.
It was useful the one time Wedge got out - I took Tycho out on the leash and let him wander around, trying to find Wedge. It was actual Tycho's yells of protest for being on the leash that convinced Wedge to come home!

Must try this with Simba

I have a large Maine Coon who goes out on a lead in the yard. Believe it or not she's gotten about 3 birds even tho she's tied.

She will walk on a leash, not as good as a dog but she loves to go to the corner and back and then around another street. She has her little routine and that's enough for her.

My other 2, forget it, they won't tolerate the lead or leash at all.
