do you give your cats "human" names or pet names?

example: we have cats named Felix and Maggie. "human" names.

I used to have a cat named Mr. Mistoffeles, after a character in Cats.

My female cat...the first kitty I ever had is named Heather and our male cat is named Soot.

Ally, Rosie and Madison here. I tend to give human names.

But I have also had Pumpkin, Princess, Muffin, and Poopsie,
as well as Sophie, Molly, Henry, Miss Kitty, and Kira.

Lots of animals have touched my life!

Almost forgot our 2 hamsters we have now: Cuddles, named by the 8 year old and Phoebe, named by the 14 year old.

One is named DISNEY after the park, which is named after Mr. Walter Elias Disney.

My other cat's name is Jazmine, of which we call Jaz for short. Hubby is a musician and he enjoys jazz along with gospel music.

Our orange tabby is named Garfield. (Little did we know that he would grow up to be FAT, like the comic strip Garfield.)

Our cats are Jellybean (she's black) and crouton (she's, well, crouton colored).

We used to have hamsters named Eggroll and Harvey and a dog named Deagan, but they're all gone now. Sniff.

I think I do both..I name my pets after Hockey Players (they are human right?)

I love Hockey Players names for pets Fedorov, Selanne, Gonchar (my doggie), Olie, Bondra, Jagr, (ok I am a Caps fan..home team) Anyway, I think hockey players have the best names for pets!

My 16 year old tabby lives with my Mom and is called Garfield, he used to be a big cat but is losing weight as he gets older due to kidney problems. Our soon to be 4 year old black and white cats, who are brothers, are Woody and Harry. The next two we get we shall call Teddy and possibly Billy hopeully tabbies or gingers. I seem to have a trend going on here with Presidents names!!
DH when at his Moms used to have Sargie (Sgt), Smokey and Smudge, still with his Mom are Samuel, Thomas, Jerry, Shelley and Monty.

Our kitties names over the years have been: Spooky, Fang, Spike, Thomas, Tiger and Goblin.
Today, Goblin lives with my my mom and dad; and Thomas and Tiger live with us and our Blue Front Amazon Parrot names Alex!

With 16 cats, we've gotten lazy and named them both people names and descriptive ones. Here goes in the order we got them...

Kitty - Wasn't that original??
Calico Cat - Umm, can you guess what kind she is??
Mollie & Tessie - Our Siamese Sisters
Rusty - An orange shorthair tiger
April - We got her in April. My husband also calls her Angel
Jasper - The name he had in the shelter
Chester - Also the name he had in the shelter
The Little Kitten - He was when we got him but has continued to act like a little kitten even though he is full grown.
Fat Foot - A polydactil very large cat.
Cleo - Reminds me of the cat in Pinocchio. I know that was the fish's name but she struts aroound the house like a queen so I named her after Cleopatra.
Little Spooky - The daughter of a neighbors cat that was named Spooky.
Prissy - My husband's daughter's cat who we adopted.
Buddy - He's friendly with almost all the other cats.
Legs - He came to us as a kitten with a broken leg.
Mom Cat - The last stray neighborhood cat who had a litter in my house on St. Patrick's Day.

Tiger......pet name

Kippie.......since a friend of mine's DS is named Kip, I guess this is a human name.

I prefer human names. Our cats are named Zack and Simba. I would have preferred Brutus instead of Simba but Ryan wanted to name him after The Lion King.

My babies are Chatham and Dallas! I guess they could be human names but...

In the spring we are getting a puppy and hoping that it fits the name Boston. We will be moving from the Boston area soon to Indiana and would like to "keep" something from the area!!

Amber - was already named when I adopted her

T.A.S.I. (pronounced Tassy) - my sister named her using the first letters of her son and our dad (Thomas), her daughter (Angela), herself (Shirley) and our mother (Irene).
