Cat Drama...Please Help! (Update - Desperate!)

So I got my aggressive cat (Little Bit) checked out at the vet and she's fine. Kitty, the only cat she is attacking, has hyperthyroidism and has been on medication for about 2 weeks. My kitten, Minnie has been spayed. Little Bit does not attack Minnie. Just Kitty. All since opening this thread.
I have been using Feliway, spray and diffusers. Also giving them calming aids, chews and a liquid called Good-Cat.
My cat is still attacking Kitty. I have had them seperated for 3 weeks and I don't know how much longer I can do it? Any suggestions? I need help.
I still have no clue why she's just attacking one cat?

I bet she was attacking Kitty because he/she was sick. Now it could be residual vet smell. Whenever we take one of our cats to the vet, it takes at least a week for them to stop fighting once they're both at home together.

I wish I had better advice for you, but hang in there and maybe it will get better!

I have a very agressive small Siamese cat (towards other cats), of course she has always been that way. We brought in another chat when she was 3, this was a male, rather large cat. She terrorized the other cat, she would get up on top of stuff and jump off on him, she was always attacking him. I ended up giving away the large cat because A. My Siamese had seniority B. I was afraid he would get enough of her bullying and hurt her because he was quite a bit larger.

Couple of years ago, I found a small cat wandering around outside, and I couldn't help myself but pick it up and bring it in the house, WOW what a reaction that brought on. My Siamese got all bristled up and looked like she was wanting to kill the little cat. So I had to keep them separated until I could find the owner of the little cat.

She also gets all bristled up and her tail gets all bushy if we have the door open and sees another cat outside. Very territorial this little gal.

This may be a long shot but have you tried spraying the cat with water (spray bottle) when it attacks the older one? It can't hurt and might help.

First ... patience. I know that's hard to hear, especially since you "want it to end" (as we all would if we were in that situation). But the cats don't care about your timetable, they only care about theirs! It's going to take as long as it takes for them to get used to and deal with each other as they grow, and I can't imagine that it's helping that every day you're coming in with new things. Diffusers, sprays, treats, liquids, etc. I know it's been three weeks and it seems like that should be enough but again ... they're cats. You can't make them work it out faster than they want to.

My suggestion, as much as you'll hate to hear it ... if you're reduced to putting one lone kitty in the "cold dirty basement", first of all, I'd make the basement a lot more comfortable. I mean, really. No animal should be put in a "cold dirty basement". Surely there's a way to create a cozy little place for the kitty who is down there.

And then maybe it's time to re-home that kitty. If it's truly only one that's causing the drama, start looking for a new home. Make the basement comfortable, give kitty some special toys and set aside time to go down there and play with just her. Maybe occasionally bring down one of the others that she gets along with. And find her a home where she'll be an "only cat".

I'm no vet, but we own 5 cats. I'm thinking that maybe when the sick cat gets his thyroid regulated, things will get better.

You can look at the positive side - you probably wouldn't have realized that cat was sick for awhile if the other cat hadn't started fighting with him. Animals have the instinct to remove the weak and sick from their surroundings, for their own self-preservation. A sick animal will draw the attention of a predator. (of course, not inside your house, but your cat doesn't know that )

It may also be that the sick cat is now "different" enough from how he was before (in the opinion of the attacking cat) that he will never be accepted, but I don't know.
