I've seen a few videos about cats and dogs using these talking buttons on the floor. They get trained what each one means and there has been some interesting videos about them.

Has anyone tried this with their pets? I don't think it works for every pet for various reasons but I would think they definitely do work in certain situations.

My ODD did this with our cat. It helped that he was really food motivated, so he learned how to use the buttons correctly pretty quickly. ended up with a vocabulary of about 10 words. He'd occasionally put them together like "Nemo-treat-no-mad." (cat's name was Nemo). So he knew how to tell us that we'd said no to him having another treat. :rotfl2:

It was an awesome experience.

I haven't done it but I've considered it.
I think my one cat would totally use them because she looks like she is doing thinking circles and really trying to tell me what she wants but I'm just dumb and don't understand lol.

I keep seeing them as well and I joking but not jokingly tell my husband we should try it with our cat. We're pretty good at knowing what he wants and figuring out when he's not feeling well but only to a point on that last part. I'd love to know more about what he's thinking about. It'd be nice to know if the intense 20min staring contest he has is because he wants water from the tub, his dry food to go off (it's on an automatic feeder), treats, etc without having to just say the words and him respond to which one.
