Do they all have 1 large porthole, except 9D, which has 2 small ones? Any other differences to know about?

I think I need to lower my expectations for Alaska 2017.

Thanks.

Yes, 9D has the 2 small portholes (and on deck 1). 9B & C are primarily on deck 2 with one large porthole. The 9Bs have a larger porthole than the 9C. 9As are on deck 5, 6, & 7. But, basically, all the cat 9 rooms are the same.

Thank you kindly. I can't believe that in 24 hours I went from contemplating Concierge (bagged when remembered can't use OBB discount and deposit not refundable) to trying to figure out what we can make happen if we want to stick with DCL...

Well, we've only cruised in cat 9 on the classic ships. We love it.

I am really happy to hear it. I just may need to convince DH. He is spoiled. He has been on 3 cruises, including Alaska, and always insists on a balcony. I've been on 12, and only 2 have had balconies--one because I was able to get a penthouse at half price and the other because i was with DH.

I understand the appeal of a balcony in Alaska, but if it isn't large enough for all 4 of us to sit on it at once, then it seems to me we're going to be up on deck anyway. So other than for better pictures (I assume the decks are mobbed for scenic cruising like they are for deck parties), I question how much we will get out of it.

I miss my days of cruising as a single woman.............
