For the experts out there - is there any particular cabins that you think are better than others for this level?

This is a pretty subjective question. I personally like deck 7 the best, and have stayed in either cat. 5 or 7 on this deck for all of my cruises. I don't know that there are cabins which are better than others on this deck, but there are some differences. The cabins which are all the way aft (7130-38 and 7630-38) have solid metal railings on the verandahs, as opposed to the see-through safety glass in the other cabins. This is an issue for some, since you can't see as much if you're sitting down. This doesn't particularly bother me. The conventional wisdom is that you feel the ship's movement less at midship, but I don't really notice this. I like being aft, and near the elevators. The elevators don't make much, if any, noise, and it's convenient being close to them to facilitate getting around the ship. I like the aft cabins because they're closer to the back balcony on deck 7, the restaurants (on decks 3, 4, and 10), and the coffee station on deck 9. My advice would be: choose a cabin forward of 7120 or 7620, if the railing is an issue for you, and then something near one of the elevators. Good luck!

Thanks! That is really good advice Senor Ferrari! Which side of the boat offers a view of Castaway Cay while docked?

Generally speaking the starboard side would have a view of the island looking out across the bay? lagoon?

This has been my experience, too, although we did once pull straight in, giving the port side the good view. I think starboard is your best bet.

Also, my guess is that it would properly be called a lagoon, since it is separated from the sea by that big reef/sand bar.

Actually, I didn't know, so I looked it up. I can't stand not knowing:

lagoon n : A shallow body of water, especially one separated from a sea by sandbars or coral reefs.

bay n: A body of water partially enclosed by land but with a wide mouth, affording access to the sea.

The definition also goes on to say that the word "bay" is often given a lot of leeway. For example, a bay is by definition smaller than a gulf, but Hudson Bay is probably bigger than the Gulf of Mexico, so it is probably correct to call this a bay, also.

I guess the Tag Fairies have correctly tagged me as a language purist. Amazing what you can learn with a good search engine....
