I read these boards everyday, but rarely post, although the information is extremely useful! Now I have a problem/question, and my TA is not being helpful at all. But I hope someone here can help me!

How is a 4th person accommodated in a Cat. 5 cabin? The pictures I've seen show a Queen Size bed and a sofa. Where do you put the 4th person?

Also, has anyone stayed in this type of cabin with 3 adults and 1 small child? Will it be uncomfortable?

I'm afraid I opened my mouth too soon to my DMIL, and now I'm going to regret it. Me, DH, and DS were booked in a Cat. 6, but we had to change to Cat. 5 in order to accommodate DMIL. I'm not as much concerned about the extra $$ it is going to cost us, but I do hope that we will be somewhat comfortable.

Thanks for your help!

Kathy

We were in a category 5 with 4 people, 2 adults 2 children. Queen bed, sofa and pull down bed from the ceiling. How old is your child? Asking, as to get up on the pull down bed you climb a very small ladder. My kids loved it, but if your child is very young you may want to put MIL up there LOL.

Why couldn't you switch to a category 6 that accomodates 4?

We wanted to keep the Cat. 6, but apparently there were no more Cat.6/4 rooms available (our cruise is Nov. 29 - so much for planning ahead)!

DS is 7, but small for his age. He might love the idea of sleeping in a bunk. If not, he'll probably do what he usually does on vacation, and that is to sleep between his father and me.

Is the sofa comfortable enough for an adult?

Thanks!
Kathy

I didn't sleep on it so I can't tell you, but the kids had to be awoken every morning. Just to let you know, you could have gone for a cat. 6 guarantee, but I would stick with the 5 if I were you, I loved deck 7.

We have done Cat 6 with 4 adults several times. Two late teen/early 20's daughters. They had no complaints about either the sofa bed or pull down bunk. Your seven year old will probably love the bunk and the sofa will be fine for MIL.

Thanks, Izzinmac & Mjasp! I feel much better now. I told DS about the bunk - he's excited! Now if we can only get him to actually sleep in it!

This will be DMIL's very first cruise, and she's really looking forward to it. We want to make it very special for her.

Joanna, I wasn't given the option of going with a Cat. 6 guarantee. Oh well. Please tell me why you prefer Deck 7. I haven't heard much about it, and now I'm curious...

Very QUIET. Very convenient to secret aft verandah. Just go all the way aft and go through the door. Peace and tranquility await you.

Just want to say I know you're a special lady!! :D Anyone who takes their MIL and stays in the same stateroom as her HAS to be special!! :D I hope you all disembark with wonderful memories!!

Hi. We just got back from the WOnder. We were on deck 7, cat. 5. We loved it. It was the best. We were aft. It was quiet, close to the secret deck, which we really didn't use since we had a verandah. But it was also close to the stairs to get up to the pools. It was very quiet. We have already said we would want the same location next time. Enjoy!!!

I have slept on the "sofa" twice and it is very comfy. It is made up to be a twin bed and I slept like a baby both cruises. Your DMIL should be fine on it.:)
