I've read a lot of posts on this board lately about Cat 11 rooms. It seems that most people are very satisfied with them. I keep thinking that I need an oceanview room...can't afford the verandah! Should I just save the extra $ and go for the cat 11 room? (And does that mean I could book a cat 12)? :confused3 The ones on Deck 7 sound great...if I get cat9 I'm on Deck 2. Please help with pros and cons...cat11 vs cat 9. Is it worth the extra $? I don't think we'll be in the room a lot on the 4 day. There are 4 of us (dks 9 and 12). Thanks so much! You guys have the best advice!!

If you don't care that you won't have outside light in your cabin then save the money. I would recommend a category 10 though. The cat 11's are a little smaller, and the split bath and extra storage space in the cat 10 will be better for your family.
I'd recommend the cat 11 if you had 5 or more in your family and had to get 2 cabins. Or if your kids are very young, and having one bathroom isn't an issue.

We had no problems with a Cat 11. You sleep very well! :goodvibes Bring a nightlight so that it is not so dark at night. I also think it depends on if you are on the 4 day or 7 day??? 2 of us were ok,but you may want more room with 4. We only use our room to sleep, change and shower and so we were not in there that much.

I have managed to snag 2 of the secret porthole rooms for my last Wonder cruise and the one on the Magic coming up in October! :cool1: Those are great! Cat 10 with windows. You pay an inside price, but have a window with a slight obstruction. It was nice have some sunlight and the split bathroom.

I must say though if it was the difference between getting to go and not going I would take the Cat 11 in a heartbeat! Book early and maybe you will get an upgrade??? :wizard:

I just booked a cat 11 on deck 7. We have a family of 4 (kids will be 9 and 12, too) and, according to the TA, there were few cabins (on deck 7 cat 11 )Disney would actually book for 4. All others on deck 7, cat 11 slept 3.

I am also wondering the same about size, storage and a window. I am looking at the cat 8 on Deck 7, but I'm estimating it will cost about $500 more. I think we're going to keep our cat 11 and use the extra money for excursions (which add up for a family of 4) or a few days at Disney after the trip.

I, too, am interested in what others say who have stayed in cat. 11 with 4 people. My husband and I stayed in cat 11 on a 3 day and honestly, were rarely in our room.

On our first cruise we in a Cat 11 w/4. It was close, but workable. We weren't in the room very often. On our 2nd we booked a Cat 10. Much better. More storage and the split bath worked very well. If it were just my dh and I Cat 12 & 11 would be great, but with four a Cat 10 worked better for use because of the split bath.

Hope :)
