Has anyone stayed in the category 10 staterooms, deck 7 forward? How were they? Were they noisy (caused by the ship, not people)? Also, does anyone have any pictures of the deluxe inside staterooms (not SPH)? Thanks! :)

We sailed on the 2/20/03 Eastern Magic in a Cat.10 inside stateroom and had 7003. We loved it. It was quiet, close to elevators, Deck 9 and had no traffic. The only thing forward of these rooms are the officers offices. We loved the location so much we are in the same area for 2/21/04. As far as pictures you may try castawayclub.com. The rooms are very comfortable and plenty of room for the 4 of us(DW,DS(8),DS(5).

We stayed in 7005 for our first cruise and LOVED it! That is a connecting room, but we heard nothing from our neighbors. We did get to see some senior officers as they went up the stairway to the bridge which was nice. I'm wait listed for this location for our Christmas 2004 cruise. I don't think I'll get it since there are so few Cat 10s on this deck.

As to the set up, it's exactly the opposite of the outside staterooms. You walk in to the split baths on one side of the hallway, with the closet on the other side. The couch/pull down bed are next, with the coffe table in the middle and the desk across from that. As I recall, there was a three drawer nightstand type thing with the ice bucket/water glasses next to the desk. The TV cabinet/cooler with some more storage was on the other side of the desk against the same wall.

Moving on into the room, the queen bed is against the same wall as the couch, and on the wall with the desk is a large steamer trunk (turned sideways) with storage shelves.

For our family, the inside stateroom was easier to move around in than our verandah (we were upgraded on a Wonder cruise). With the verandah/outside staterooms, the bed is in the part of the room closest to the hallway. That means you have to walk around the bed to get anything. But that verandah was awfully nice!

We too have stayed in 7003 and also in 7509. Both were great rooms, near the bow and also near the end of the hallway. Little traffic and no crew noise.

We had 7007 , 7005 & 7001 for our March 2003 cruise. We loved our rooms. Not much traffic. I did notice that I would not have liked room 7009. It looked like it was right next to the area that the crew brings the luggage & other supplies up from lower floors. Noticed it was a little loud an occasion in the early morning. So if you had room 7009 you might hear it more then we did.

We could hear some but not enough to bother us at all in 7007. But had we been in 7009 I think it would have been enough for us to wish we would have had a different room.

Thanks for the reply.

For those of you who have stayed in 7507 or 7509: did you have any noise problems in them?

Thanks. ;)

OK Padre Disney: You've made me nervous because my wife and I have booked 7009 for 2 weeks in January. I looked at it when were there last January and didn't notice the potential problem.

Here's hoping for an upgrade! Thanks for the info.

We were in 7507 this past June. No noise problems whatsoever. In fact, it was quiet, very little traffic, close to the forward elevators, and it was easy getting back to our room from the Walt Disney Theatre in the evenings as most people headed back to mid-ship for the elevators. I wouldn't hesitate getting this room again.

We also loved the location. BUT if you look at the deck layout you will see a gray area next to rooms 7009 & 7509 and on all other decks in the exact same area. Not for sure but I think that maybe there is a utility elevator right next to these rooms. (maybe someone can tell me for sure) This would explain why we thought it was noisy at certain times of the day. Again that was just us.

The first day on the ship we noticed that this was the area that had all the luggage coming from it. In the mornings we noticed this was the area that the stateroom hostess returned to for supplies. At certain times we thought it was a little busy near that area.
BUT slmjam has stayed right next to this and didn't seem to have any problems and if we ever needed to book a cat 10 again we would pick the same area. :D

Since we liked the location so much we wanted the same area for our March 2004 cruise. We only wanted cat 11's so we moved down one deck to 6. We have 6002,6004,6003 & 6007

I'm sure you will be fine. We never used our room much. I just think we happened to be walking past that area at the right moment that it was busy.

2 weeks of cruising :bounce: lucky you.
Blowing some pixie dust your way in hopes of an upgrade.

Padre, We were in 7010 and right across the hall from the linen storage room. They keep the sheets, towels, pillows, bed rails, & pack & plays in there. The next room back is the area where the luggage is taken to when it is brought aboard & collected on the last night. We heard the door closing until after 12:30 that night but I was awake anyway. It didn't last too long. There may infact be an elevator in that room since I didn't see it come back out of the room while running around on a few last minute errands that night.

I do recall the last night of the cruise this "storage" room Padre Disney referred to. And yes, this did appear to be where the luggage from our deck was being taken to. Aside from the door to that area being open the last night and seeing the luggage lined up inside, we did not notice any additional noise because of it.

In my opinion the only drawback to having a room this far forward is you are quite a distance from the laundry room.

They did unload luggage the first day in the afternoon and also used this area to load the luggage on Friday night but this did not bother us as we were still up (and I imagine most other folks are too on the last night).

Padre: thanks for the encouragement.
