Does anyone know the Caswell Hotel in London? It's at 25 Gloucester St.
After reading a couple of good reviews, I booked this as a backup for our June trip in case I don't find a better deal anywhere. DH gets a bit grumpy if he doesn't have a bed to sleep in at night. The reservation is fully cancellable with no penalty until June 21.
I continued looking for reviews and found several that said this hotel was a real dump. Mind you I have no major objection to a dump as long as it's clean and safe. Several of the reviews mentioned how safe the area was and only a couple had any issues with cleanliness.
I do have a bit of a problem paying $240 USD a night for a dump, but at least we have SOMETHING. I'll keep looking and following all the great leads you folks have given me. But will this do if all else fails?
