I've read plenty of posts about the winners being driven to their hotels to pack up an overnight bag for the big night... but they all seem to be staying somewhere on property- is that a qualification?
Thanks-:surfweb:

Absolutely not. You just have to be eligible (not a Cast Member or relative of anyone working for Disney), and able to stay THAT night.

Most of the reports I've read folks have gotten themselves to their hotel, then bused or driven to Grand Floridian with their overnight stuff. Then Disney handled it from there.

I don't see how any of the Dream Squad would know who was staying on property versus off property during the awarding of the prize.

Question off of that...if you are selected but NOT a castmember, could you have friends who happen to be cast members stay with you also??? :confused3

I have that same question. When we were at Mousefest, I was thinking what 5 friends could I have party with me and would I have to exclude CMs??

You're only allowed 5 people to stay with you? Suppose you had a huge family like the Brady Bunch or Yours Mine and Ours or With Six You Get Eggroll? ºOº

If you have a big family you'll have to choose who goes because only 6 are allowed to go up to the suite.

We had 6. It was really fun! My parents called on Saturday to see if we wanted to stay with them (of course). :) I am curious about the cast member thing too - but I would guess you could invite who you wanted. I didn't see anything on the paperwork that I signed asking if I was a cast member.

How do you enter for a chance to be chosen to spend the night there?? Or is it just one of those things where they walk up to you and tell you that you have been chosen??

Cast members cannot be the winner, or an immediate family member of the winner. However, if the winner wants to invite a non-related cast member, they are welcome to do so.

Right - that was something I was told today (I actually ended up introduced to todays winners, which was very exciting for me too!)

Technically yes, as they did not win... but I would be sure to make this VERY clear to the Dream Squad if you win. And obviously they can't be family or neither of you is eligible.

I was told by the Dream Squad that yes, cast members CAN stay. But not win, and not be related to the winners. I am not sure you'd even need to say anything, as long as they aren't family.

Well, I hope we don't win then because we hve 6 kids. How on earth would you decide who gets to stay and who doesn't??? I would never want to be in that position.Hmmm... I wonder if, like in the resorts, infants don't count in the head count???

You don't have to accept.

It's a tight fit already, 6 is pushing it for the night - it isn't a huge suite, and only one bathroom. I am not sure that they'd allow a 7th even as an infant.

I'm not really too worried as I'm pretty sure we won't have to make a decision like that anyways. I'm not really expecting to win anything. I do have to chuckle at the one bathroom comment though. We only have one bathroom at home so our connecting rooms at ASMovies (with 2 full bathrooms) are like heaven to us!!

You never know! I didn't think I'd have to make the decision either. :)

A lot of people can't do well without 2 bathrooms. We did okay, but it is only for 1 night. The one bad thing - it's not like in an emergency that one person can run out to a lobby of a normal hotel/resort to use the bathroom if needed. You are stuck!
