Castle inn

We stayed there about 5 years ago when DD was 6- honestly it was cleaner that a lot if the 4* hotels I've stayed in for work. I remember I spilled some oatmeal- picked up all the flakes but there was still powder under the desk- it was slick and span after. The room was big, it wasn't a far walk (DD had no issues) for what we paid we were totally happy. They've renovated since too.

I stayed there in September and was very happy with it. Large room, clean, friendly staff. For me, it was a 10 minute walk to the Park, with plenty of food options on the way.

We stayed there for 1 night last June and were happy with it as well. I hemmed and hawed about booking something closer, but it wasn't a long walk at all.

I'm interested in hearing as well. I'm holding reservations for here and the Del Sol right now and trying to decide which to go with. :)

WhileI usually stay at HoJos this is my favorite back up hotel. Most recently were there for four nights in Sept and will be there in two weeks.

It is clean and the people there are very nice and helpful! There is also a little market for milk, etc right there. I believe it was renavated about three years ago.

I feel much better about it now! I'm working on getting my husband to let us upgrade to ap on our trip in April and I know if we do that, we will need to do super budget trips for the other trips after this one.

...but you get to go more often so it's totally worth it. I am wanting to do the same thing in September :)

I haven't stayed at the Castle in over 10 years. I remember it being a perfect budget friendly hotel. I have seen a lot of great reviews of it, so we will be staying there 4 nights in May. $377 for 4 nights isn't bad over Memorial weekend! It usually comes up as the cheapest close hotel on Harbor at Getawaytoday.com. I am contemplating upgrading to an AP to, so budget hotels for us :) More park time anyway!!

We stayed there the first week of October 2015, the rooms were large and clean. We didn't use the pool, plenty of parking. No breakfast but plenty of options along the way. 10 minute walk to the gates.

Stayed 1 night in Dec. room was clean, beds fine. Parking easy. Noisy early in the morning as we could hear kids running around outside but that was our only complaint. Price was great, stayed in a family suite thing that was 1 King & 2 queens. Would return if needed place for 1 night again or if I needed a cheap hotel for a DL trip.

It's not a Hilton but it's not a Motel 6 either. I definitely stuffed the comforters in the closet and there were a few minor carpet stains but it wasn't that bad for the price.

I stayed here in late January of this year. I stayed here for a couple nights after spending a few nights at another hotel nearby. The things I noticed were that there was no bed bugs, clean, good laundry area, no free breakfast, there is no safe to lock things up in the room and is bit further from DL. The walk back to the hotel was long and tiring. The gift shop in the hotel is expensive! However, there is a short walk to a CVS which you have to cross a busy street corner on Katella Ave and Harbour Blvd to get to. I wouldn't recommend going alone when crossing those streets (Crazy drivers! ). The hotel was supposed to have HBO but didn't. The hotel is good enough and not gross.
Did you look up the hotel on Trip Advisor?

Try and avoid the rooms up front,,,traffic noise.

We just stayed there Mon-Sat of this week and it was ok. We will try somewhere different next time, but not because of anything 'bad'. No bed bugs. Clean. We had a room on the first floor near the front and it was a bit noisy at times. The beds were fine for sleeping. It was a walkable distance for us, but I did find myself wishing we were at the crosswalk like we usually are. Again, nothing to complain about at all, but nothing amazing to make me want to stay again either.
