Hi, we will be doing our 3rd Disney cruise on the Fantasy in a few weeks. When we were on the Dream last year, one of the gifts left for us was a great beach bag. I was wondering if I should pack this beach bag again, or if they were going to give us another one.... I'm just trying to cut back on what I have to pack!
Thanks!

They've changed up the gift and they are now giving a blue back pack with some snacks inside.

This year we received a back pack. I think it is even better than the beach bag as it has a zipper and you can carry it on your back.

yes, it's the same gift across the ships. we received ours last week on the wonder.

I was on the Fantasy last week and was disappointed to find out that there is only one backpack per room (even if all members are CC members). When we were on the Magic last summer for the Med cruise, I thought all occupants received a bag. I guess they changed it? The backpack and snacks were very nice but hard to divy up a backpack between three people, LOL.

The policy has always been one Castaway Club gift per stateroom. Many years ago (maybe 2001/2002) they would make an occasional exception (when people in the cabin were living at two different addresses) but that stopped pretty quickly. And it was shortly after that that they started making Stateroom hosts have you sign that you received your gift. (I'm assuming this was so that stateroom hosts didn't make exceptions on their own.) Since that time, I can't remember them giving more than one per stateroom. So if everyone in your cabin got one last year, something went wrong in their system.

I guess we lucked out in late April on the Magic. This was only our second cruise and there are five of us. We got the standard Castaway Club backpack and we also got a second smaller backpack that said Disney Cruise Line. The smaller pack has a vertical zipper and is perfect for one person on a short hike. We also got the snacks as mentioned, playing cards, playing card holders, a key chain, and ipod speakers!

Maybe we had a generous state room host. Never signed anything that we received it either.

You do not get a Castaway Club member gift on your first DCL cruise.

Nope, these gifts are for Castaway Club members which means you have sailed at least once on DCL. A repeat customer thing.

On my 8 cruises as CC member I have never signed once for getting the gift.

I don't know, maybe we just look dishonest. Or maybe it has to do with us have two separate addresses that they think we will try to get two gifts from them. But our stateroom hosts have been having us sign for them for years! Here, we thought this was normal. I'm going to refuse to sign in August!;)

We just got off the Magic and did the Dream last year and we have never signed for our CC gift.

I didnt like the backpack as much as the red bag last year. I gave mine to a little girl down the hall since it was her 1st cruise I thought I would spread some pixie dust around
