How do you join the castaway club? Can you join after one cruise?
Does it cost anything? Does it give you any benifits?

Once you take a cruise with DCL, you are automatically enrolled and you will receive your number and card a few weeks after the cruise.

You are suppose to receive your cards, but there have been numerous people who posted who said they didn't receive any. We cruised for the first time in January and didn't receive any. I finally called and requested them. The woman on the phone apologized and we received our cards about 2 weeks later.

There is no cost and there is a special Castaway Club member check in line, although some Disers say sometimes that line is long, and there is a reception on board for members.

We never got our cards or the CD. We do however get the Castaway Club gift and our invitation to the party every cruise so its no big deal (although I was a little angry about the CD). When you check in at the port if the castaway line is too long you can use any other line too.

You know I was a little upset about the CD as well. I mean I can always get a recipe but I would love to have a copy of the CD.

I wish I knew. We never got a CD either. We did get 1 card with my DH's name on it. It says in the letter that we would get offers from the Disney cruise every now & then, never got that either. When I called to book our cruise for next year, I gave her the CClub number & she tells me that the rest of the family have #'s too - the next 3 consecutive #'s. So even the kids have CClub #'s. When I called last week to add on my brother-in-law to our reservation, I asked about the coconut & leaf & CD's that others got - (From reading trhe boards) - she really didn't know how they were the chosen ones. She did take my e-mail - and yesterday I got a Disney Cruise trivia contest - Grand prize, A 7 day cruise! So we'll see if them having that helps.
