We went on a Disney Cruise last November and the only thing we ever got in the mail about Castaway Club was a card with our "Castaway Club Guest ID". Were we supposed to get anything else? I was under the impression that we would be getting periodic newsletters or something.

Only ever received the cards also. There is a gift left in your stateroom on repeat cruises & you can attend a special coctail hour.

They used to send the Disney Insider magazine quarterly, but that was discontinued. Now you get a dedicated check-in line at the port (although it's not always shorter than the other lines), the gift (currently a towel and pins), and the party, where you have snacks & drinks and can chat with the captain and officers.

I have another question regarding Castaway Club.

On the average, how soon after your first cruise do you get your Castaway Club number.

If you booked through a TA would they get your number post card and hope they forward it to you.

Just wondering???

Since we got ours so long ago (our first sailing was in 1998), I can't say for sure. But many people have reported on these boards that it is a very long time, and some haven't even gotten their number. If you don't get it within 8 weeks, I suggest calling. Others have reported that they were able to get it over the phone.
Actually, I somehow ended up with two different Castaway Club numbers, so maybe I will auction off my extra one on Ebay if anyone is interested. :p

I tried repeatedly for 8 months to get them to send me CC information. After half a dozen phone calls and waiting and waiting, I finally received something in the mail. It wasn't necessary though - they were able to tell me my actual CC number on the second call (probably could have gotten it the first, but didn't ask).

we cruised on july 4th...
i hadn't heard a thing so i called...
they said i would receive some forms eventually but wouldn't give me any info over the phone...
i still haven't heard anything and i don't really care....
if and when i re-book i'll question them on it...

I also ended up in with two CC numbers and are cruise was also in 1998, on the actual Maiden Voyage of the Magic. Maybe the early cruisers had to get different numbers????? who knows!!!
