1) We are going on the Dream for a 4 night cruise on March 13. This is my 6th cruise so I will be a Gold Member. I see there is an onboard reception. Is it worth the time? Where is it? When? Age requirement?

2) As I'm only a teenager, when I turn 18 and make my own DCL account, will I still be a Gold Member? Or do I have to start at the bottom again? Thanks!

There is usually a reception for Gold/Platinum. They should leave something in the room or check with guest services. I don't know about the age. They do serve both alc/non-alc beverages and snacks.

On question 2, do you already have a Castaway Club (CC) account? If so, all your cruises count. My kids have Gold status and they are 11&13. You can create a new online account for reservations, but they save your CC info separate from that. You should not start at the bottom.

If you register then you should already be gold. No need to wait til you are of age.

With the party every time I've been they have served alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, little appetiser type bites, fruit (as usually its around 10am from experience) and then at the end give out mickey mouse rice krispy treats. Plus there is a photo session with Captain Mickey (no shutters people there last time I did this but they have a CM there that could take pictures on your camera)

1. The reception has no age requirement. If you are gold status your cabin will get an invitation. Typically it is on the sea day (don't know about the Dream, it's been awhile since we were on that ship but on longer cruises, it was at 11 am in the D Lounge). If it is worth it is a subjective question. They are very quiet get togethers now. You have the chance to talk to the officers of the ship so if you've wanted to do that with smaller crowds around, it's a good chance to do so. There is usually a chance to take a photo with Captain Mickey with very little to no wait time. Again, if that is interesting to you, it might be worth it. And most of the time the Captain is there and will give a small speech. There is food and drink offered (appetizers and cocktails/mocktails) and at the end they usually offer rice krispie treats/bottles of water to go. We don't find it interesting enough to go every time and especially not on trips that are very short. But everyone is different so if it sounds interesting and doesn't conflict with something else you want to do, go for it.

2. Everyone's Castaway Club membership/number is in their own name. So all the trips you have taken and will take in the future will count towards your Castaway Club level. It does not reset when you hit 18.
