Just called to get our castaway club membership #'s since we didn't hear anything after our cruise last October. She gave me our numbers and said that it was noted for our cruise this October so that isn't a problem. When I asked when we would receive cards or mailings she said that they couldn't send anything to us because we were outside of the US.

Was just wondering if there were any Cdns who have actually received castaway club cards or mailings?

I do have a card that says I am a Castaway Club member and I did receive some mailings from them, magazines etc.
That was quite a few years ago, after our first cruise which we went on in early 2000.

I have called numerous times to tell them I had never recieved anything. They keep saying sorry you should have. We will send it out. I am still waiting after 2 years!

Fiona, I would call back and say that this is not the case since a fellow canuck did recieve one!

Never any other info!

She said it had to do with privacy regulations that they couldn't send anything international. Thought it sounded odd and was thinking of calling back tomorrow and asking again but thought I'd see if anyone here got a card first before I did.

Is it still a towel and pin Janet?

I'm not Janet but yes it is 2 pins and a towel.

Just got back from the Wonder on Sunday night.

I had to call and call and call until they finally sent one to my husband. Now I am hoping that they will send one for myself as well as our son...

At least we received one:):) Can't complain.

And the towel is a qood quality one to boot! The pins though it seems everybody was trading them! I told Tanya these are keepers!

Thanks everyone. I will call again and begin nagging -- my DS assures me I have this talent. :bounce:

To put it quite simply to be a member of the Castaway Club you have to be a repeat cruiser.
After your first cruise, you automatically become a Castaway Club Member.
This entitles you to certain "benefits", such as a dedicated Castaway Club Member check in desk at the terminal, a free gift delivered to your cabin and a Castaway Club Reception party while onboard the ship.

Can we use the special checkin? I thought that we still have to check in at the foreigners desk since we aren't US citizens? Doesn't matter to us because we had a ton of Cdn flags that we handed out to everyone in the line and also lollipops. The CM's thought it was funny. :bounce:

It's quicker to use this line! There are so many repeat cruisers now that the Castaway Line is way tooooo looooong!LOL

When we checked in last October it was actually quite slow but I think that was because there were quite a few Japanese passengers who didn't seem to understand the CM's and they were ahead of us. We could tell by the passports which was kinda neat because the big family behind us were all Canadians and the family behind them were from the UK.

The other lines seemed to move more quickly but it probably varies.

I guess you should take a look at the line ups and then decide which line is the quickest one.
When we went last week there were no line ups at any of the lines so we used the Castaway Club line.

The Non-US line was non existant! So I went there. The CC line was somewhat busy and the other was way too long!
