hello all,I haven't been to castaway cay since december 2002.have there been any changes since,as we will be returning this september and this was always our favorite stop.

I don't know if the frozen yogurt was there when you were, but it is there now! Look for the fresh made ceasar salads too.
There is now a jet ski tour offered as well.

I don't know. I was thinking after a two year abstince that there would be more improvements than a salad and an alcoholic drink.

Just curious but what were you hoping for? We've figured it was pretty close to perfect each of the five times that we've gotten to be there. Too many changes and they'd actually make things worse in my opinion.

I don't recall any changes. I think they've added an excursion or two. There did seem to be a larger area for eating. And they had a self serve soda station, which I don't remember being there before. Of course it had been 2 years since I had been as well.

Was the game room there when you were there? Don't remember when they added that.

I wasn't hoping for anything,I just know how disney keeps adding and changing things. when we were last there ,constuction work was going on near the dock.so I was just wondering what changes took place. no big deal, just curious.

Doesn't everyone think it would be spectacular if Disney would actually develop the rest of the island? Think about it: nice resort, water park like Typhoon lagoon, etc. etc. they could do a 3or4 day cruise package there, with a 3 or 4 day island package... and it could be all inclusive like those sandals resorts.

What a fabulous idea! I have always wished they would spend more than one day at CC. And a resort -- they already have an air strip there. How cool to fly people in from the coast to stay at a resort for a week! Sign me up:teeth: ::yes::

When this topic has come up before (turning CC into a resort), one of the problems mentioned was the bugs. Apparently, they come out in full force around sundown, and will drive you off the beach. I love the fact that it is so deserted. It is truly an island paradise.

Bugs can be dealt with, they can line the beaches with burning citronella torches like the Hawaiian tiki torches etc... besides, I'm from New Jersey, mosquitoes don't get much bigger than they do here:rotfl:

oh, and they can have it themed like CBR but do an emphasis on Pirates of the Carribean, the water park could be themed like the original ride. The lobby of the resort could be also!

I wouldn't want it to be developed anymore. I think it would ruin the island paradise feeling to see a big resort on CC. It would be kind of nice to have a pool and maybe a couple small water slides though. I love the beautiful beach, but if I had a choice I'd much rather swim in a pool.

I wouldn't want to see a resort built at castaway cay, last time I looked there was already one docked there.what I would like to see is more things for people to do.we've been there five times and have had a blast each time, but more childrens activities, trails to explore the island,I'm the disney brass could find a way of adding to the island without destoying the charm of it.

Just so you know you'll be able to buy pretty much anything you need on Castaway Cay now. Much to my D.W.'s delight

Oh no!

Too funny Grumbo!

We enjoyed the new Costco on our trip in May. I noticed they even gave DCL cruisers one free day of membersip when they dock at CC. - Mike

OMG. I can't believe I missed Costco. It was probably because I was running to the beach to get a chair.

I do think it would be a good idea to expand the beach area. Maybe put a beach on the other side of the dock? I would also like to see the bike trails expanded.
