Castaway Cay- recommendations please

Castaway Cay has lots of fun for the kids:

1. Snorkeling with the kids.
2. Renting floats and going out to the jump/play area out in the water.
3. Groupers-it is an open air game area on the island. There are giant checkers and chess, shuffle board, pool, football, basketball and so forth.
4. I believe there is a dinosaur bone dig at scheduled hours on the island.
5. At the lunch buffet on the island there are cookies and ice cream to eat.

Nassau:

1. Visit the pirate museum.
2. Visit the Del Sol Store. They sell t-shirts, jewelry and misc. items that change from invisible designs to brightly colored designs.
3. There is a McDonalds on the island if you need a quick break.
4. A day at Atlantis should be fun.

Enjoy your cruise!!

Snorkeling is better early in the morning. Once 2000+ passengers stir up the sand, things can get cloudy.

Hammocks go fast. Don't be afraid to look for one at the end of the family beach.

Have fun!

Most of the best things have been said already, but one thing that both castaway cay and Nassau have that is also fun for kids is the glass bottom boat tours. If they like tropical fish, it's great. In Nassau, weather permittimg you even go out and see a ship wreck.

Also if the water is too crowded at castway cay in the morning, remember that most people head back around 2:00p.m. for some reason. The beaches are great the last 2 or 3 hours your there. Also you can reverse that and the pools on the ship are deserted in the morning hours while everyone is at the beach. Sometimes it's fun to swim on board until lunch time, then go to cookes BBQ, and then hit the beach as most people are heading back to the ship.

These are my favorites, the kids can't have the drinks, and no gambling for them either, these are more for you to enjoy!........

At: Castaway Cay: CONCH COOLER, a must try!!!
At: I enjoy a few hours at the Atlantis' Casino, and a little shopping.....

You can rent bicycles and ride to a deserted part of the island. We had lots of fun and did it on 3 cruises. The kids enjoyed the ride too. The view is beautiful.

snorkeling did not go well as the kids had trouble getting the hang of it. The salt water made it worse.

Hit the sports beach and play volleyball. Our kids loved playing volleyball in the sand and even a little soccer.
