Can you walk around the entire island (all guest-accessible areas)? Or do you need to rent a bike to do that?

How much are bike rentals?

You can walk everywhere on the island if you wish or there are shuttles that will take you to the main parts. You have to transfer to a different shuttle for Serenity Bay. The bike rentals are around 6.50.

You can walk anywhere in the developed areas, but you'll save time and blisters by riding a shuttle. There is one shuttle just north of where the ship docks that will take you to to the main tourist area. And if you want to visit Serenity Bay, there is another shuttle on the other side of Cookie's BBQ that takes you to the west end of the Serenity Bay beach.

It's actually funny that you compare them to parking lot trams as two of them are former MK parking lot trams.

I don't know how to ride a bike <Insert Laugh Here>. So really had no choice but to walk from one end to the other end (including the trail), no issues other than a brief rainstorm and had plenty of time left over to due other activities.
