Castaway cay Question

Do you need you Id when you go to Castaway Cay- to get back on board, And how do you keep it dry?? Also can you rent Fins there, we are taking or own mask. Thanks....Going on the WONDER next month...

yes you have to have your id and kttw card with you when you get off at castaway cay, just like you do at any other port of call. walmart sells plastic id holders for .98 and you just leave it on the beach with the rest of your stuff when you go in the water.

yes you can also rent fins there. i think they will charge you the full rental price for all the equipment even if you just want the fins.

You can also get a waterproof box...(water wallet) that is on a lanyard and is big enough to fit credit cards, id's, and KTTW card....You can get them at alot of outdoor stores like REI...and even on the ship (with a DCL logo )

We bought a DCL logo plastic box on a string necklace for about $5 on our last cruise. We have used it at the beach and at WDW. It has been worth every penny we spent on it.

Fin Rental is less than the cost of the cost of renting all your snorkel gear. The vests are free. I think the cost of the fins is about $ 6.

I bring my own stuff - esp. now they have the smaller fin available from US Divers.

Make sure that if one of your teens goes back on the ship for something, that an adult goes withe them. They will not let them back off the ship again without an adult!
This happened to my teen daughter last year and she spent the day onboard because they would not let her off the ship without an adult. we thought she just decided to stay in the room and read. She said it was a long afternoon by herself.

We got just a mask and snorkel for $5 last month. Fins would most likely be similar.
Anyone with their own equipment can just pick up a vest at the lifeguard stations.
Everyone with a mask on their face MUST wear a vest....even if it's just a kid playing around at the regular beach. The lifeguards yelled into megaphones all day about that.
