Mailing postcards from Castaway Cay, do they have different stamps and how much is postage? Can you buy post cards on ship of the island or do you need to get them there?
Also same questions about nassau. Thanks

To mail postcards on Castaway Cay you need Bahamian postage. I believe it's like $.50 for a postcard to the US.

Not sure about whether the ship has postcards of Castaway Cay. I know most other CC-specific items are only available on the island, not onboard. I know you have to buy the stamps there (if the post office is open).

Just to add to what @PrincessShmoo said above, if you do mail a card home from CC expect it to take a month or more to get to its destination.

I've found postcards in the drawer of the desk before. Always a nice surprise. You can also mail a coconut home from the island too, but I'm sure they cost a bit more.

We have been to CC four times and the post office has been open only once. Good luck getting anything out of there.

They only take cash for postage and post cards at Castaway Cay. They do not accept the KTTW card. I found this out on my last cruise. I was disappointed I didn't have any cash. Now that I see people saying their cards never made it, I'm not as disappointed.

When people save $.50 do you mean in USD or do you need to exchange $ on the ship or can I bring $1 to mail two postcards?

That's because it's a Bahamian Post Office (Government), not a shop operated by Disney.

Twice I've taken one of the postcards from the desk drawer and bought a stamp at Guest Services (you can charge it to your KTTW card if you buy it there). Then I stopped at the post office and dropped it in the mail slot on my way onto the island. Even if the post office closed (which it has been almost every time I've been there), there is a mail slot where you can drop your postcard in. Both of the ones I did this way arrived at my house a few weeks later. :)
