Castaway Cay overnight

We did a cruise one time with CC being on two consecutive days. Left CC as usual on the first day and then return the next morning as a brand new day. The ship does not stay overnight at the island except maybe if there was some kind of a problem.

This.

Every one of the “we stayed” reports above were because of weather or something mechanical. Not by choice.

Again, if it was planning to remain docked, the itinerary would say that. They could make far too much money on a cruise that remained docked and allowed evening activities on the island to not promote that information.

Ahh, an evening 5k, bon fires and smores, the endless possibilities of entertainment. I couldn't afford the cruise, but it would be nice to dream about.

I did the first two runDisney Castaway Cay Challenge races. If I remember correctly, we docked around midnight both times, so that they could do the setup for the race in the morning. For the Challenge 5K, we were off the ship while still dark. The did the runDisney 5K early, then had the regular free 5K afterwards for the "regular" guests.

Yep. 2015 castaway challenge person here, too. We did dock around midnight.

They want to make sure they can get there.

So this sort of thing is on their call, and you can’t necessarily anticipate it, and it doesn’t do anything for you since you can’t stay on the shore.

I noticed us docking because I cannot stand the way the ship feels when docked. I love the motion when the ship is moving; best sleep ever, so the change in the motion jarred me.

I’ve also done a double dip sailing that had 2 Castaway days in a row. Actually, done it twice, I believe. Both times the ship sailed out in the evening & returned in the morning. If they were to overnight at Castaway as a planned thing I’m very sure it would be used as a marketing point.

We too docked just before midnight when we did the CC Challenge in 2016. We were walking back to our room from the clubs and realized we were pulling in so we went out to watch. Here is a picture of the ship, from the island, in the dark the next morning.

And day break on CC.

On our double dip we left the port, did circles in the ocean for the night and then went back.
