Castaway Cay Kids Club

When does the kids club open on Castaway Cay? I would l like to book a para-sailing excursion for my husband and I...but I need to make sure that the kids will be able to go to the club on the island while we are doing that. Can some seasoned cruisers help me out?

I don't know for sure, but I am under the impression from what others have said on the boards here that you check them into the clubs onboard and the CMs take them to Castaway Cay.

Yes you can check them in on the Island. They have their own area that is blocked off from everyone else and they have planned activities/play. My daughter used to love it (She is 10 now) I see you have a 3 year old, I believe the same rules apply on the island as on the ship regarding potty training.

They do have specific hours - I cannot remember what they are. Remember the kids CM's have to get off the ship, set it up and then close it down and go back to the ship to open the kids club for the evening. I cannot remember the hours but I got off the ship about an hour after they were allowing passengers off and it was open. I think it closes an hour before time to board. I am sure other Disers will know the times.

I have not seen this but it has been almost a year since I was there. We have always had to bring kids to the club on the Island and pick up on the island.

The same as onboard the ship - 3-12. Basically Oceaneer's Club/Lab moves to the island for the day.

Scuttles Cove is open on the island from 9am - 3pm; I have heard of people doing the 5K who were able to drop off slightly earlier but I think these are generally the hours and I wouldn't expect i to change. This "club" takes the place of the Oceaneers Club/Lab, which is closed onboard until late afternoon. So that's ages 3-12.

Younger children who go to the nursery are still cared for onboard during Castaway Cay day. This is a day they often will go up to the splash area as a group since very few people remain onboard at the pool area.

Older kids -- Edge and Vibe -- have their own activities on the island as well.

This seems silly - but this never crossed my mind. I'd love to look at the 1hr wave runner excursion for DW and I. Is it deemed appropriate to leave kids in the club while parents go to do something like this?

That's what it's for! Give you adult time for whatever, and let the kids have kid-fun.

Yes, they feed the kids at the club.

Here is a screen shot of the Navigator on a Castaway Cay Day. It shows that the do serve lunch in the club. Scuttles Cove is listed in the middle on the list of the kids clubs. The kids in The Edge will go to lunch at Cookies 2.

The kid's club on the island is ALWAYS open in time for the 5K runners/walkers.

And given that I have never, when doing that 5K, been off the ship first, there have always been been normal non-5-participating guests in line before me, those people could use the kid's club on-island, just like I could, if my son wanted to get off the ship that early but not run with me. (some people have the experience of the 5K people being first off the ship...I just haven't had that yet in 4 5ks on the island...except for the special, paid-for, Castaway Challenge, got off the ship when it was still dark, 5K...but that one isn't the normal 5K)

Since it's open for the runners, I would assume that it would be open for you!


You drop the kids off there; you don't drop them off on the ship.
