Minimum age for the second person on back is 8. My son is 8. Thinking of taking him with. Any folks here do it? How long is the adventure? Interesting and fun for kids that age?

If you don't have access to a jet ski at home this can be a really fun time, especially for kids. Just make sure you prep them that they won't be driving.

The groups usually leave out and you follow in almost a single file line system, so you won't be off doing donuts or risky maneuvers. They should also provide you a safety briefing, and a how to, if you've never done it before. You must use the throttle when you go to turn, counter intuitive to driving a car.

I'll let others go into more details and reviews. I'm sure there might be some other threads about it too.

My DS did this last year when he was 18 and enjoyed it. It was very choppy that day so they offered to let them cancel with no fee if they wanted to but he did it and had a ball.

I hated it but I had never been on a jet ski in my life and I was terrified to be even driving it. My husband and daughter were on the another one and he had a blast, her not so much when she got winged off into the ocean. This was not my thing but if you like jet ski's it would be great. We went to this little island and got off and found conch shells and starfish which was cool.

My 10 year old and I did it this past Feb. It was her favorite excursion of all time (ziplining, helicopter ride, parasailing etc...)! The kid has to be behind you and you can get going pretty fast over the waves so they have to hold on pretty tight. We stopped at a deserted beach and saw some wildlife which was fun. We both really enjoyed it but my shoulders hurt for a couple days. It was hard to hang on to the steering column and accelerate but I would totally do it again. It was less expensive than the parasailing for 2 and it lasted a lot longer. Have fun!

my family & I love it! we do it every time! it was cancelled two weeks ago when we were there and we were very disappointed!

We booked this but it was cancelled along with all other water excursions on CC (couple of weeks ago) due to rough seas/ high winds. Our DS 8 was extremely disappointed as he was looking forward to it the whole cruise.
If you book it just be aware it could get cancelled, water excursions seem to get cancelled a lot on CC. The 4x we have been this was the case.
Hope you get to go and let us know how you liked it! We will attempt to book it again next time we go.

We have this excursion booked during our December Dream cruise..... Any tips on footwear/clothing? Just swimsuits and water shoes? Or anybody have other recommendations?

It is just too short of a period of time for the money. We did it, but we also have done it in Cayman Island and the one in Cayman was simila r but was 3 hours long. Went to STingray City and Starfish beach and was amazing.

Goggles!!! dont' really need footwar, but the salt water on the eyes is really tough!! So either goggles or sunglasses that have a strap to stay on your head in the wind.

It's a lot of fun. I would agree with a previous poster though, they probably should double the time, it does seem too short.

We have jetskis at home. It is a tshirt/water **** (avoids life jacket chaffing), swim attire (trunks or bathing suit), water shoes or sandals (to avoid issues with hot sideboards, seats, and to provide additional cushion while jumping the waves), and sunglasses with a strap (generally a strap that allows the items to float in water).

If this is your only event that needs a floaty strap you may want to skip it to avoid the cost, especially since you likely shouldn't be doing risky maneuvers causing them to fall off. I would also recommend against goggles or ski masks. They will likely fog up and the water spray sits on it, especially with salt mixed in reducing visibility.

I just booked. It says 1 hour. I assume that is 15 min of talk, 2 stops of 5/10 min each, 5 min of wrap-up at end. So probably actually moving for way less than 30 min .. but I'm going for it anyway!

We also have jet skis at home, but never use anything but our swimwear (bathing suits/trunks) and sunglasses! Would you say that this excursion is somewhat comparable to a jet ski ride at home? I would assume if we're used to riding at home, the shoes and shirt thing wouldn't be as big of a deal?

We generally would do day trips, so the extra precautions for longer rides. I don't know how long this particular excursion is. If you are used to riding at home, then this should be a breeze for certain.
