Castaway Cay Hobie Cat Rental

We would like to rent a hobie cat while on Castaway Cay. From what I can find online it appears we can not pre-book a hobie cat and we would need to schedule a time once we arrive at Castaway Cay. Is this correct? Also, if we need to book this way is it something we should take care of immediately? Do they tend to book up quickly?

I appreciate any information you can provide! Thank you in advance!

The Hobie Cat is my favorite part of Castaway Cay. They are not used very much. They will ask if you have sailed in the past year. Enjoy!

Perfect! My husband is actually a certified sailing instructor so no problem there! Do you know if the five year age restriction is a hard limit or just a recommendation? My son will only be four but he has been sailing since he was only a year old.

as far as I know, you can't venture out of the protected "play" area with the boat

What if you sail albacores and haven't sailed a Hobie before, but generally know how to sail?! lol

We rented a Hobie Cat last Feb on CC. DH was a sailing instructor on Cape Cod many years ago when he was in college. Plan to do it again each of the CC days on our B2B.

He tried to teach me how to sail while we were out on the water but I told him that my job is just to sit there and look pretty

We had no problem getting one. Seems they aren't too popular. But as a bonus, they weren't stingy with timing, eg: you pay for half an hour, but can keep it for a bit longer within reason.
