Castaway Cay excursions

Do I have to prebook the rentals of snorkel equipment, floats and bikes? Or can I just pay as we go the day we are on the beach? I’m not sure who is going to want to do which. There are 4 of us- with 2 young adult children. If they meet up and make friends with others onboard and want to do their own thing that day, I don’t want to be stuck paying for something we won’t use.

The last time we did the bundle above but I don’t think all 4 will want to snorkel which doesn’t make sense then for us to bundle the rental this time around.

We have rented bikes and snorkel equipment on the spot, without any reservation/excursion booking. They have just asked for our room number, as far as I remember.

Maybe there would be times when all the equipment/bikes/whatever was rented out/reserved, but assuming that's not the case, they have been willing to rent them on the spot.

There will never be a shortage of bikes on Castaway Cay, so you don't have to worry about that. I don't know about snorkeling equipment, but the bicycling you don't have to worry about.

Snorkeling equipment and bikes should ALMOST always be OK. Had one trip out of 5 where for some reason everyone felt like biking and when we showed up they were almost out of adult sized bikes. (And we had reservations.) We've also had good luck in getting a sailboat that day (once they said that we had to come back after lunch and once they were wide open).

Thanks to all who replied. I think we will just wing it for the day. This will also be the first time we will give Serenity Bay a visit.

I have read though that the snorkeling is not good in that area. Should we do the snorkeling at the family beach and then move onto Serenity Bay from there?
