Do the wave phones and/or navigator app work on Castaway Cay? DH will be doing the 5K and I am trying to figure out how we will know when and where to meetup afterwards. We will also want to let the other ppl in our party know where we will be sitting.

Hi! I am a youth activities Counselor. Yes the wave phones do work on Castaway. Which is good so we can still let grown ups know when their kids want to be picked up. Lots of people do not know that though. Or simply forget to bring them off the ship.

The Navigator app doesn't work once you're out of the ship's wifi range. It still works if you just got off and are next to the ship, but definitely before the security check point, it stops working. Learned this the hard way.... If you have cell phone signal maybe it would work, we didn't turn on roaming so I don't know, it would probably be very expensive. Just remember your wave phones.

The wave phones are sometimes hard to hear. It's a good idea to send a text. Although the wave phone has a old school key board so texting is a little hard.

Wave phone works if you can remind yourself how to use a 10 year old phone again. I managed it in 2013 but the knowledge degraded enough that a year ago I couldn't even figure out how to make a call on it.

Mysteriously, DH did indeed get my Navigator text from the 5K finish line.

You could figure out the timing most likely. We met at the lounge at 8:15 and left the ship around 8:30 or so I think, then walked over, we walked the whole thing and were done less than an hour - you could meet him at the finish line - which is at the bike rental area.
