My Great Aunt of 90 years young will be sailing with us in a July! I know the chances of us getting a cabana are ZERO as we are only silver level. We want her to be at the beach with us as long as possible while being comfortable..shade and a padded lounge (not a towel as a cushion) and near Cookies. Haven’t been there in almost 6 years, forgot what it’s like. Any suggestions on how to make this happen.

Keep checking for cabanas especially 3-4 days before the cruise they can come available.

We were just there about a week ago. We easily snagged some shaded loungers at the very first beach next to the water sports rental hut. It was right near Cookies and a rest room area and couldn't have been more convenient. They do not have padded loungers, however.

Go early! We took our time getting off the ship and, surprise! all the loungers anywhere near the slides were gone, let alone any in the shade. We moved over to the other beach after lunch and found a couple loungers, but those people might have left by the time we got there.

I know there's "no saving", but people weren't just saving the loungers, they were saving the little sand chairs, too. Like 2 and 3 stacked together at the end of their saved loungers.

So get a couple family members to go to the beach early and save a spot for her. If anyone complains, well, I'm sure there will be plenty of other loungers around you also saving spots.

Have you checked into the possibility of getting the accessible cabana?

Way back when they were first introduced, the cabanas were under the control of the concierge staff but others could be put on a waiting list once on-board via port adventures. We were sailing with my MIL who was in a wheelchair and accessible room, we were not concierge. We got on the waitlist and were given cabana #1, the accessible one. I have no idea how many others were on the waitlist, but I don't think it was a coincidence that we got it given that she needed it.
I also have no idea if they hold back that cabana for someone in an accessible room, but I agree it would be worth a call to DCL as soon as possible to see how that cabana is allocated and that you want it.

Having that cabana for her really made her trip. It gave her a place to be out of the sun and watch her grandkids play on the beach. Also a nice place to eat lunch out of the crowds of the normal BBQ. Also, the cabanas have electricity, so should could plug in some medical equipment that she needed.

I don't have any advice about cabanas but just want to say that your Great Aunt is an inspiration to those of us who hope to still be cruising Disney at the age of 90!
This will be her 2nd cruise! We had many other options but we thought that everyone could be in one place but still do their thing at times too not to mention the convenience. Yes she is, she has battled many health issues and is still here :)

Getting a cabana as a silver is not impossible.

We got a serenity bay cabana on our very first DCL cruise about 20 days before sailing. I checked pretty much each day and one day there was one available and I grabbed it.

Our most recent cruise (5th) we got one 67 days out. Again checking pretty much each day.

So while the odds may not be great, it is possible.
