I'm sailing concierge on the Dream and have been advised that a major perk is that I may be able to book a cabana. But is it worth it if we want to do activities - snorkel etc? I'd love to relax but I know my son doesn't want to lay there all day. Do you walk to activities from there?

You get snorkel gear and bike rental included with the cabana. You can just walk out to the water to snorkel (although there isn’t much to see)

We’ve had the chance to stay in a CC Cabana a few times. We‘ve always biked the island and snorkeled the entire snorkeling lagoon while on those CC stop. We’ve even done the rays once. Unless you take an excursion, or get off the ship late, you can enjoy your cabana more than enough.

You would have to leave your cabana to do most activities. You could snorkel in front of your cabana, but the "snorkel lagoon" that has all the buried statues etc. is down at the other end of the family beach--but even then, that is at most a 10-15 minute walk. It's not that big an island.
