Castaway Cay 5k still on?

Who knows how it will be by March, but as of now, you run it on your own and then ask for your medal at guest services. There's no organized race

Did you need to sign up somewhere because on our sept 10th cruise when I asked guest services they said they weren't giving any medals out? Maybe because it was only a 3day cruise.

No sign up needed. It was mentioned during a couple different announcements that you could run the 5K on your own and ask for the medal at guest services. Maybe they changed the location of where you pick up the medal. From the Know Before You Go information on Castaway Cay:

5K Race
Though the 5K group race on Disney Castaway Cay has been temporarily paused, Guests can still run the race on their own (no registration required) while practicing physical distancing. All participants who complete the 5K run will receive a finishing medallion. Information on where and when Guests can pick up their medals will be made available via the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
