I'm hoping on doing the 5k with my family, but I had a couple questions.
1.) Is there a time limit that I have to run the race in? I'm a little out of shape, but still want to run the race, so hoping that there is a long enough time limit for me to do it.
2.) Are they still giving out medals/what do they look like?

I think that's it for my questions.

There is no time limit. We have even been told take as long as you want, its ok to explore out there, but if the CMs are gone when you return you can get your medal in the store.

Last I heard they were still giving out the rubber medals, similar to, if not the same as the one on the left here.

No time limit. I did it last August and it was HOT, so many people were taking water breaks and walking it. I did in 30 min and there were a lot of people longer than that.

Yes no time limit. I'm still working on finishing the 5 k from 2016.

The only thing that is different from the medal pictured is the ribbon (it has the current year on it)

My son finished in 44 mins and the CMs were still handing out medals

I have run it several times. It really is no big deal. In fact I carry our beach bag for the first half mile detour and get a great spot on the beach. Then join the race again. The best way to describe it is think of it as an organized run on the island. Not like a real 5k. Take whatever time you need. If you feel you want a metal and the cast member happens to be there when you finish you can grab one then or as other posters said the store may give you one. As for the run it really is rather uninteresting. Most of the run is thru the paved trails which is really just a mangrove forest. If you see 20 yards of it you have seen the entire thing. With that said it is humid and hot most of the year. When I say humid I mean humid.

This. It is a "fun run", and unless you are doing it as part of the runDisney Challenge following an included race weekend (you have to sign up for it specifically and pay), it's not really a true 5K - I've gotten anywhere from 2.8 miles to 3 miles.

we are going in july in a double dip cruise. will they do the 5k on both days?

My daughter and I walked the 5k last month and took about 55 minutes to complete it. They were still giving out medals when we finished. It was fun and we would do it again.

I did it in 48 mins give or take on both trips walking/jogging since it was untimed and my run keeper doesn't work in airplane mode

Just got off the Fantasy Double Dip on Saturday and they did not do the 5K on the second day. They didn't give a reason why, my wife and I ran it anyway. Other Double Dips I have been on had the 5K both days.

When does it start? I have a banana boat ride booked at 9AM for my DD's and DH. Can they leave and take the tram back to get there on time.

I really don't want to move the excursion but I am think of doing that. I just hate having excursions eat into our beach day.

Also while it wasn't a question, if you do sign up and the ship can't dock, they will let you do it on the ship or promise to do it at home afterwards and still give you the medal.

It has been our experience that the race starts close to 9:00 am or even a bit after. Hope that helps with your planning.
