Castaway Cay 5k age limit

I thought I read somewhere that the Castaway Cay 5K age limit was 10. If that's true, how strictly does Disney abide by this? My daughter will be a few months shy of 10 and has ran cross country for the last three years. Any chance she can run if I run with her?

I've seen a couple of Navigators listing age 12 but most say 10. My understanding is that children under the stated age cannot register and officially participate. That said, the course is open and there is nothing stopping anybody from running the course -- just no bib and medal. I've read some parents share their bib and medal with the child as souvenirs after the run.

Thanks for asking! My daughter will be 9 but she has run quite a few 5ks and is really looking forward to this.
