Cast Members Board...Private? Why?

Please do not flame me, I am a newbie and was just curious why the Cast Members Board was "private". Is there a "open" board where CM post?

it's a well known fact that Disney management reads these boards ... keeping the CM board private protects their identities, should anything scandalous be spoken there....

That's funny, I would think the Disney management would be considered Cast members themselves (as they work for Disney) and would be allowed access to the CM message board.

If you are a Disney cast member you can join the CM board. Is there something you need to know that someone else could help you with?

It's a good idea if someone is a cast member not to post that also. People posting here think then it is official when a cast member posts something but they are speaking from their experience not Disney policy.

I often think there are CM's posting that just dont make it public that they are cast members. Others go to disney so much they might as well be CM's And then there are those people who will openly say they were once CM's .
I think its great that the CM's get a board for themselfs. They probally grip (as we all do with our jobs).

I would love to hear some of the CM's stories....i'm sure the have TONS of stories!

Believe it or not they don't share gripes on the CM board here on the DIS. It is usually questions dealing with aspects of their job and where they can go to get more information.

I had never thought of why the CM board is private, makes sense though. And I didn't know they posted on here, now I am going to be wondering if this person or that person is a cast member. It makes sense to me to that a cast member wouldn't want to reveal that information.
Maybe if I make a plea to win a Disney vacation (GF please) for a month , and a cruise , maybe a Disney-really-high-upper would make me a winner??!! Oh can I make that request, a month every year for life? (might as well dream big!) (ok, to not be selfish, it doesn't have to be GF)

To all the secret CM's reading these boards... Thank you! The absolute best part of our Disney experience was the incredible staff who smiled, helped and gave us joy all week long. Not an easy job at lot of the time and the place just would not be as magical if not for the incredible staff

No there is nothing I need to know. I'm just nosey and wanted to read what CM's (that's cast members and NOT Chef Mickey's) have to say.

I always wonder what goes on behind the scenes at Disney that the general public does not know or see. That's all.

It's funny to see a "private" CM board. I as a CM come here to find out the new stuff....you all know before I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We really are not telling a fib when you call and ask!!!
